Works great

Only 4 stars

It does not have an up-to-date list of satellites I had to manually enter the GOES 19 satellite (GOES EAST) other than that this thing is absolutely awesome

Muito bom

Waste of money

I have been conned. I paid for the upgrade and Augmented Reality doesn’t work. Don’t be fooled.

FAQ

What does DishPointer do?

DishPointer is a utility app designed to help users precisely align satellite dishes. It utilizes augmented reality and your smartphone's sensors, like the compass and accelerometer, to guide you through the installation process, making it quicker and easier.

How does the app use augmented reality?

The app uses your smartphone's camera to display the target satellite in space. This augmented reality view helps you visualize the satellite's position and ensure there are no obstacles like walls or trees blocking the signal path.

Is the app free to use?

The app offers a free version with core features. However, advanced functionalities like compass guidance and augmented reality obstacle detection are available in the Pro version, which can be unlocked through in-app purchases.

What sensors does the app require?

For optimal performance, the app requires your smartphone's compass and accelerometer. It also uses GPS to determine your location and display the satellite's direction on a map. If your phone lacks a gyroscope, the app compensates using accelerometer and magnetometer data.

Can I use this app if my phone doesn't have a GPS?

Yes, if your smartphone does not have GPS capabilities, you can manually enter your latitude and longitude coordinates. You can obtain these coordinates from mapping services like Google Maps to ensure accurate satellite positioning.
