Great Game if Not for the PVP

The game itself is fun to play. I really enjoy collecting some of my favorite characters and making them as strong as I can. The missions and goals for the game are also fun. Having us conquer levels to become a sorcerer and claim some of the most powerful characters is Disney really keeps you glued to the game. The idea of taking the long way is sort of annoying with the VIP mode always flashing in your face, but you get used to it.

The main problem with the game is the PVP. I’m either thrown into a fight with a player who is leagues above me in the game, or I am given a fight with a CPU that is meant to beat me. Only once in a while do I actually get a fight with another player on my level or some random CPU that I can beat. The only reason I still participate in the PVP is for the rewards. However, it still gets on my nerves sometimes when I loose two to three fights in a row because they put me against people who are far more powerful than me.

Other than that it is a really fun game and I would highly suggest you try it for yourself. Then express your own opinion. Just be careful with the PVP system.

From game with huge potential to money hungry developers

Playing this game for over 2 years it started out like an amazing idea with limitless potential. In over 2 years being active part of the game and discord community i can tell you this : any and every feedback gets ignored, game is full of bugs that are constantly reported but gets ignored. They keep rolling new updates and new characters without testing them and they just keep adding broken characters full of bug that are only obtainable by spending lots of money. I do spend money on a good game from time to time , did it a few times in this game but never again. Zero communication with community , zero actions toward resolving real issues of the game , everything the DSA and Glue team did in past year is figuring out best way for new content to get paid. It is really disappointing how they destroyed such a beautiful idea and potential.
My recommendation is to skip this and find something better to waste your time on.

I WANT TO SEE THEM!!

Ok so I recently started playing this game because I love Disney, I was happy to see characters like Simba, Rapunzel, and Milo I just felt I’d love to see other characters, maybe like characters from different series, and I know it probably takes a long time to make the character models and all their attacks just I feel you’d get more people to download the game with more characters, some characters and reasons are like you could add Varian and Cassandra from Tts, tangled the series because I have a lot and I mean a lot of friends who absolutely love these 2 characters and so do I! Another few characters could be Kovu, Nuka, Kiara and kion, all from the lion king 2 and lion guard, I have some friends who are also fans of these, and I find myself relating to Nuka more than I should but I know this is supposed to be a suggestion not my fantasy, but still maybe if you were to add characters like Varian and Cassandra (yes I’m a diehard fan) you could attract more people to your game!

Climbing downhill

When the game rolled out, it was a blast. The game was very competitive and hard work paid off. I never minded a few dollars here or there.

Once Glu took over the game, there has been a massive decline in performance and customer service compared to the games first year.

1. There is an insane number of glitches that arrive with every update. Sometimes so in unbearable that you can’t play. Takes them months to fix character abilities and bosses who have “invisible heads”. When a glitch gives you millions of coins or extra character nodes, it’s fixed in minutes.

2. You have to spend thousands in order to be competitive. I have spent $15,000 in the last year and my characters are still not in the top. They have debuffed characters I invested in so bad that they are useless. Every new character that comes out is stronger than all the ones you have invested in that took you several months to upgrade.

3. Customer service uses scripts to communicate and require you to record a video of all the glitches. They still don’t get fixed.

4. Discord is not used by the game but outsourced aka “spokesperson” which is 2 guys who communicate for Glu but insult or block players daily. Plus extremely unprofessional. Being a business owner myself, I’m surprised the type of behavior that is allowed to happen between players and the voice of the company.

Games good

First I have to say I like the game. It’s not pay to win imo. You can do everything for free just takes way longer. The variety of characters is great and the graphics are good as well. Now the bad even though there are a variety of characters 90% of them are pointless this game is strictly meta like right now baymax team is stupid strong along with a few other characters. I have the kingdom team and I’ll be 5-10 levels higher than the baymax team even tiered higher but somehow only get like 2 attacks off and can’t even kill one of their team. Baymax is wayyyyyy too strong. Along with beast and Hercules. It’s to the point if you don’t have them or have to face them just surrender soon as possible kinda ruins the game cause there is no challenge unless you have those specific characters. So don’t think of this game as a challenge think of it as a grind til you only get specific characters the devs make overpowered.

Only getting worse as time goes on

The concept, art, and depth of character abilities/game strategy (when working) are all good. But all of that is let down by the sickening pay to win structure and endless game breaking bugs that then take forever to be fixed (if they ever are). At first, the issues were that it’s continually becoming DISGUSTINGLY pay to win. But now… it seems like their development teams have either been stripped or the game has grown beyond what their teams can handle. Every update is full of game or character breaking bugs. And the bugs just don’t get fixed in a reasonable timeframe. The dev team just seems under resourced. And at this point, it really seems like they just don’t even have a quality assurance or UAT team. I’ve been playing the game casually for over a year and it’s confounding that a game of this caliber, with the brand backing that it has, has so many problems. There are so many constant frustrations that this game just isn’t fun. My recommendation is that you don’t waste your time, and especially your money, on this game. The value just isn’t there. Especially, in the long run.

Before playing

There are a lot of good things about the game such as the graphics, gameplay and variety of battles. The biggest issue with the game is everything is pretty much set up to get you to spend money and I’m not talking about $5. To get a few characters in a bundle it’s $99. You can get a full game on any console for less then that and this is just giving you a few characters to be able to use. You get some basic characters in the beginning, but after that it’s hard to get anyone new. There are a lot of characters that would be fun to use in battle, but you will probably spend $100’s to get them. A one flat out price for the game with everything included would be understandable, but putting a price tag on everything individual thing in the game and it costing $50+ is insane. Maybe over a really long period of time of playing you would get more characters, but you will be stuck with the same characters you have for a long time making the gameplay less fun.

Not enough bang for your buck

DSA is very much geared towards P2P players, which is fine in a sense. I’m willing to throw some money into a game that I’m spending a lot of time in. However, the rewards that you get for your money are very much lackluster in comparison to the monetary amount spent. I love the game, characters are fun, events are often and easily accessible, but the reward aspect of the game needs some reworking; that includes rewards for PVP and Ursula clan raid as well. SO hard to get higher tiers against Ursula and the prize doesn’t jump that much. Also, why is it the only players that have access to her are the ones with the most power? Seems a bit off-scale. Overall it’s a well done game, but you have to have the patience to build up characters and collect a large squad before you can access a lot of the game features.

READ MOST RECENT REVIEWS !!

Please, read the most recent reviews. Don’t let the over all rating fool you, a lot of those high ratings came from a time when the game was actually fun to play. Do not waste your time on this game. It was an absolutely beautiful game not too long ago. It has since turned into such an obvious money grab that it’s almost disrespectful to the average player. The developers and customer support do NOTHING to help with your issues or complaints. All they will say is ‘we are always working to improve the game’. But everything remains the same. If you can’t afford to spend literally -thousands- of dollars on a mobile game, don’t bother here. Because that’s what you’ll need to just be on the low end of the competition. They are constantly jamming things in, always making the new character just a little more stronger than the last. And if you want to obtain that new character, you’ll have to invest into other new characters that go with them. It’s never ending spending. Quite brilliant from a business standpoint but as far as the people who actually play the game, it’s sickening. I don’t want to rant longer, but please. As cool or interesting as the game may seem, you will only become frustrated by the blatant scam they have going on.

Super boring since the raid character nerfs.

The game is very boring with nothing to do now. It seems that every time a character has a use the company will nerf them to make the game less fun and force you to collect more things at a very slow pace to get back to where you were. A lot of people invested time and money into characters only to have them nerfed with no warning. Made a lot of players leave the game. Seems like it is a trend with this company unfortunately. They had a content creator who’s videos are shown in the news section brag about this team and teach everyone the best way to use the team so that they could help there club unlock the best pvp player in the game. Then after that video was posted they decided to nerf that same team that was promoted. They seem to ruin the fun of the game with every update. It went from being fantastic to just ok. Animation is amazing but that’s the only thing this game hades going for it now. Can’t wait for Diablo 4 to come out because this is really boring anymore

Horrible Update for June 2021

Glu really took aim at Free to Play (F2P) players with the last update. There is certainly a meta for raid and PVP, and F2P players have to spend their time and resources on certain characters to keep up with pay-to-play players. The recent update nerfed all the characters that the F2P players have been working for months on building up in terms of time and resources. The only way Glu will listen is through public reviews. Support doesn’t care at all. When you bring these issues up, they simply take note of them, and say they pass the feedback along. Glu did walk back Bubbles after realizing how bad they screwed up, but there are so many things they screwed up.

The balance in the game is legitimately terrible. There are 10 or so main characters that people use, and tons that are simply used to progress through events, but have no real value in the game. This speaks to Glu’s inability to balance characters. It seems the latest round of new characters is so overpowering that the old ones just get left in the dirt until a refresh comes along, if it ever comes along.

Fun (at a Steep Price)

This game can be a lot of fun. However, the developers make it very difficult for free-to-play players to unlock legendary characters. As a result, you end up playing against very overpowered characters in player-versus-player; you can bet on playing against some permutation of the same 10-15 characters 9 times out of 10. If you do decide you want to pay, you’re looking at anywhere from $10-$100 just for the *chance* to unlock a character and power them up to a usable level. On top of that, there’s always the chance that the developers may release an unannounced update later that nerfs the character you paid for. Overall, the concept is great and I would even be willing to pay money for this or something similar if it were on a console. However, I don’t know many people who are able and willing to shell out the kind of money this game asks for, nor do I know many people who are patient enough to farm a character only to have it nerfed when the next new character releases. After a year of playing the game, I am sad to say I am deleting it. I won’t be investing anymore time, as the developers clearly do not care about making a fun game; they care about hooking your interest so that you will spend money.

Wasted a year of my life.

I played this game religiously, every day, for almost about a year now. I loved it. I do put some money into buying gems at times, but I’m primarily f2p. That being said, it takes a LONG time to build or unlock characters, and you can spend a LOT of money very fast to help in this game. I had been working really hard to build my team around what was working against the stronger characters and teams at my player level. I recently raced to unlock a player that would complete the perfect team for myself, and build her up (yes, I spent money for this), before an event was over. After said event ended, and I had her at a decent playing level, the trash new update was released... let’s just say that this company ruffled a lot of feathers and screwed over a lot of players, making previous power house characters now completely worthless.
It is now painfully clear that this company doesn’t care about the free to play players. They make enough money off of the big spenders that unlock the unattainable legendary characters, and that’s all that matters to them.
It’s been fun, but I have no desire to continue playing now. My advice is just not to have any hope in being decent at this game unless you want to spend lots of money. Don’t get invested. ✌️

money or nothing.

This had the potential to be a great game. Following the schema of SWGOH and Marvel Strike Force, this was a fun, Disney-themed game for individuals and “clubs.” Overall, I think the game is just poorly designed, and Glu and EA are too greedy. There are dozens of limitations to slow growth. It takes weeks or months to gather enough resources, gear, gold, runes, to get characters usable. The only way a player can stay relevant and have good characters is to pay to play. I don’t know many other games that have multiple $100 bundles. As a F2p, I grinded for months to get a decent team to participate in the different game modes... except then the game developers just pulled the rug out from under me. They nerfed 4 of my main characters in one go, months of collecting down the drain. How can I play knowing that any character I invent weeks and months in can be destroyed any minute? I didn’t pay to play and now I have an irrelevant team and I’m months away from getting another.

Fun, but P2W. And also TOO MANY BUGS.

I’ve been playing this game since it launched, I really enjoy collecting all of the different characters and making all of the different teams; HOWEVER… it is near impossible to do anything necessary to win in the game without spending real money. For instance, the tower events are ridiculously hard to achieve all needed character shards to ascend them to 7 stars (like Rapunzel or Frollo). The next major problem is the amount of bugs!! The game needs a serious debugging from the devs. Nonstop issues, like freezing and crashing during important battles, such as club conquest and raids. It’s ridiculous that the game has been going on this long without the bugs being fixed. And then, another problem that’s not as major as the other two is the way the battles are set up. The characters are set in battle at an angle so you can’t see all of them all the time, especially if you have summoned characters which take up more slots. When you’re required to give one of your characters a buff or a cleanse, it is way too easy to click on the wrong character because of the way they’re set up. This needs to be fixed. Either create a mode where you can view overhead, or change the setup entirely. Thanks for reading.

Great gameplay. Hate the marketing and connectivity issues

This is a great game to play, when you are playing. There is a lot of variety in events and characters. Being a Disney fan, I like building up the teams. Unfortunately, a lot of the fun is lost is the additional effects. It is a marketing nightmare. There is a considerable bombardment of offers and advertising that pops up. It is hard to identify legitimate free offers from pay offers unless you visit all offers to remove the badges. The other pain point is connectivity. Nearly every time I play the game, it hangs because of connectivity issues. I am not sure why it has to be that seemingly always connected while I am playing. I think some gameplay should be able to be done without connectivity and update it when you establish it. I play a lot of other games and have no issues like this, so I know it is not my speed or bandwidth.

If the advertising and connectivity were improved, this would be a 5 star game for me. The fact I am still playing it more than a year later is a testament to that.

Fun at first, but evolves to a STRESS inducer.

This game is quite fun at first, I even spent some money on it as I felt it was worth it. However it takes up a lot of time and in order to be successful you have to farm characters that the game makes much stronger than the others. Currently characters from Frozen and Big Hero 6 are overly powerful, so a team that is much lower than yours will win without even really allowing you a chance to play. In other words their team will take 5 or 6 turns in a row not letting you make a move. If you’re looking for a stress reliever, I can assure you it will become a stress inducer. It also makes the fun of choosing your own team moot, if you don’t use the stronger characters you won’t win. The creators “ask” for suggestions, and many players have mentioned the aforementioned frustration to no avail. The club I was in recently had a mass exodus from the game due to the unfairness and the time it consumes without paying off. I will probably be deleting the app at the end of the month if nothing improves. It does have a few positives: Cool character designs and moves, fun early on, different types of spells and magic. Play at your own risk.

It’s good but...

I love playing Sorcerer’s Arena, it’s one of the few games that I can play frequently and not get tired of it. There’s a good selection of characters and having a club makes it relatively easy to level up most characters without having to spend actual money though that would make it even easier. The only reason I wouldn’t rate it a full 5 stars is it has a few features that make it less fun to play. The turn based system is great when it works but there’s times when a player gets such a big advantage that it’s almost impossible to win, I’ve had instances where a player’s entire team had each character go twice before even one of mine got a chance to fight. Also some characters are so ridiculously overpowered that they’re nearly impossible to beat like Elsa for example. And finally constantly getting paired in the PVP arena with players that are WAY stronger so there’s no point in fighting and it hurts your weekly score, I mean 2,600 deck strength against 3,700 deck strength. Overall good game but there’s some minor things that are a little bit annoying

Only play this game if you enjoy being frustrated for no reason. The only way you can advance at a competitive level is if you spend a bunch of money on the game.

The general story mode is okay for the most part, but once you get into the sorcerers tournament and the PVP arena it’s BEYOND frustrating. In regards to the PVP arena the game matches you up with people that you literally won’t stand a chance against. For example, if my deck power is 3500, the game will pair me with someone who’s deck power is 4700; then you have to go through like 8 different matches before you can even get a single trophy (assuming the game doesn’t randomly end the match before you can beat them and then give you no credit for the progress you made) and you’ll waste over an hour of your time trying to complete the daily challenge.

I’ve wasted too much time cursing at my phone playing this game, and spent too much money to be this frustrated with it. I’m done playing this game and I suggest whoever is reading this review don’t waste their time with it either.

Decent Turn by turn, can pay-to-win.

This is a pretty standard turn by turn, the characters are fun to see pitted against each other, and you really don’t have to pay anything to have fun.

However, you sure can buy characters, upgrades and currencies to make your team broken and not fun to play against. Some nerfing of “movie” teams such as big hero 6 or the frozen characters are too OP to have any fun when playing against these teams. It become less about skill and more about who can spend enough money to buy all these characters.

That’s really my only true complaint. I don’t mind people spending their money. Just annoying when a low level team that has natural attack strings can completely destroy 2-3 of my teams higher level characters because of multiple stuns, extra hits, multiple evasions and infinite slows and afflictions before I even have the chance to attack once. So if they can just nerf some of the characters. That would make this game more enjoyable.
