What's New in Ditty

1.3

May 15, 2026

**Looks** — 21 one-tap recipes based on the games that defined each console. Tap a Look and the system, palette, kernel, pixel scale, and tone all snap into place at once. Browse all of them inline in the FX panel; each chip shows a 5×5 pixel tile preview of the Look's palette. **Pixels FX** — a new resolution multiplier. Drag from 5% (very chunky) up to 200% (extra detail). Snaps to block multiples on attribute-cell systems so C-64 / NES / ZX still satisfy their hardware constraints. **Presets, redesigned** — your saved FX states live as their own inline picker. Tap the **+** Add chip to save the current settings; a five-position arcade dial lets you drag, type, or tap **Randomise** to author a 5-letter code. Long-press any preset chip for rename / delete. **Watermark customisation (Pro)** — three modes: default "Made with Ditty", off, or custom text (your handle, up to 40 chars). Pick any corner and any opacity. Free users keep the default mark; the render layer enforces it independently of the settings UI. **Wallpaper Export (Pro)** — saves the current dithered output to Photos at your device's native screen resolution. Apply from Photos → Use as Wallpaper. ### Performance Massive live-camera speed-ups across every retro system. C-64, NES, Apple II, Atari, Mac 128K, MSX, Amiga, ZX Spectrum, BBC Micro, Game Boy / Color, PICO-8 — all noticeably snappier. Heavy systems that used to stutter on live preview now sit comfortably above 24fps. Video uploads decode faster and start dithering as soon as the first frame arrives. ### Polish & fixes - Tap the camera view or the surround to exit the FX panel. - Match Photo chip now sits centred under the viewport in still mode. - FX chips light up gold when you've changed a value from the system default, so the "Default" affordance is always one tap away. - Fixed: uploading a photo while a previous render was still converging used to get stuck on "processing 0/1". The new render now takes the queue immediately. - Fixed: C-64 Multicolor + a few other heavy systems would stay frozen on the still after returning to the camera mid-render. Returning to live now always clears cleanly. - Removed: Atari VCS Color Playfield, Atari VCS Interlaced, and the three C-64 Multi FLI variants (rare, slow, and visually inconsistent on phones — the regular C-64 Hires / Multicolor remain). - Many other small fit-and-finish items.
