Nice App for Djembe
A great App for all who like the music of Mamady Keita, a truly Djembe-Legend. In the 90s i had the luck to organize some workshops in my hometown. His Timing, Sound everything was unbelievable. We miss you, Mamady!

This collection of African rhythms is comprehensive and inspiring, for those who like super-complex rhythms (try playing together even two basic parts of any of these rhythms and you’ll say OMG!)

The great Grand Master Djembeföla Mamady Keita strongly endorsed this approach! It’s like having a West African djembe ensemble in your pocket! It was designed to make learning djembe fun and thorough. All parts, oral history, maps are included, as are a metronome feature and lots of other great stuff!

I'm happy that new rhythms have been added, but there are some that are out of sync. For example, ANTA.

Great for newbies
I have no previous education in music and am learning djembe at age 56, so it’s not easy! This app allows me to get hear the different rhythms while I practice my part, or just listen to one rhythm to help me get it right.
Hands down the best djembe app!
I’ve been a professional percussionist, drum maker, and educator for almost 20 years, and this is far and away the best and most authentic and easy to use djembe education tool out there. The only app I’ve seen with so many legitimate and well researched West African rhythms, straight from the hands and heart of Mamady Kieta! Bravo in every way!

So intuitive. Immediately started navigating, isolating parts, adjusting volumes, speeding up, slowing down and playing along. I’m fairly new to African drumming and this app is invaluable.

This is an absolutely brilliant app! The best drumming/percussion app I've seen so far! Easy to navigate, understand and use! You can learn at your own pace and choose to challenge yourself, at your own pace. The help and tech support is incredibly generous too. A truly excellent app that can make you a good drummer! Very highly recommended!

Stuck with only a few rhythms
Awesome idea but almost all the rhythms are locked, it prompts me to purchase packs for $0 but when I click Yes nothing happens. Bit of a disappointment.

there was an issue with an iOS update which caused this problem. i believe we addressed it in the last update. could you please change your review?
Export audio to other apps.
I wish this app was able to export its audio to various daws (ie cubasis or auria) via AudioShare, AudioCopy, or Inter-App Audio.
Indispensable
Super application. Je l’utilise tous les jours. C’est à la fois un extraordinaire outil d’entraînement et un témoignage culturel unique (ou allez vous dans le monde trouver réunies les partitions détaillées de 50 rythmes ?!!). Pour l’entraînement, l’ergonomie est parfaite. Tout ce dont on a besoin est sous la main. Malgré le petit nombre de rythmes offerts, la version gratuite m’a offert des dizaines d’heures de travail, et toutes les partitions sont gratuites ! Je n’ai qu’un mot : respect !

no, you don't have to pay for every song - there are 8 rhythms available for free - so you can test out the app and see if you like it. then there are rhythm packs available after that. they are (quite) reasonably priced. it took several years and tens of thousands of $ to develop this app. if you don't want to pay to unlock its full functionality, you can still use it as a reference guide. please change your rating - bad ratings hurt
