What's New in DnD RPG

3.0

September 24, 2026

Version 3.0 — the biggest update yet, shaped by months of play-testing. WHILE YOU PLAY • A fight now keeps its own panel above the story: whose turn it is, every fighter with a bar and their hit points, and who goes next — so nothing scrolls away mid-battle. • Rescued prisoners, wounded knights, elf scouts and goblin defectors can actually be asked to join you now, and they walk with you for a while before going their own way. • Deeper, harder floors can break in two: a wing with no passage to it at all, reached by a teleport pad or by the gallery above. An easy game never does this. • When the quest is done, the DM asks what next — keep the tale, sleep a week, throw a party, or go again: petitioners bring the next quest, deeper down or in another dungeon, by teleport, boat or on foot. • Parties of up to six (Settings > Gameplay > Party Size); four is still the classic. • No internet? The game says so once and carries on with the Dungeon Master on your device. Nothing waits on a connection that isn't there. NOW ON EVERY APPLE SCREEN • iPhone and iPad, plus a native Mac app, Apple TV (text you can read from the sofa) and Apple Vision Pro. CHOOSE YOUR DUNGEON MASTER'S BRAIN • Apple's on-device AI is the default where your device has it: free, private and offline. • New: Hugging Face. One free account opens up many open AI models, with a monthly allowance that covers plenty of play. Step-by-step setup and links are built in. • Pick the model for every AI: a few recommended ones with notes on speed, cost and cleverness, or any model the service offers. • Test Brain checks your AI in one tap, and a working key is kept safe in the Keychain. • No AI on your device? A Hugging Face token steps in automatically, and the built-in DM still runs the whole game. LEARN AS YOU PLAY • Training gives you one task at a time — get a quest, light a torch, listen, fight, save and come back — ticks each off as you do it, and ends with a quiz: pass it for a certificate. • A Hall of Fame of completed adventures, with example games to load and explore. A QUEST WORTH GOING DOWN FOR • A main quest from the start, told in-character, and side quests from almost anyone you meet. • Quests that differ in what they ask — rescue, fetch, find, clear, escort — with deadlines in days on the DM's own calendar. • A guardian on every floor, and the villain of your opening tale at the bottom. • Easy is one small floor with the guardian's lair pointed out; Hard goes deeper with tougher fights. Raise the difficulty mid-game if it's too gentle. • An ending worth reaching: an outro tale, fireworks, a certificate with your maps, and the Hall of Fame. FEWER FIGHTS, MORE TO DO • Riddles, logic and word puzzles, with new signed puzzle packs arriving by themselves — and you can suggest your own. • Merchants who remember you and haggle; gyms, bards, locked doors, keys, and teleport pads that can drop you a floor. FIGHTS YOU CAN FOLLOW • The DM narrates the blows and tells each fight back as a story. • Replay Fight steps back through a battle once it's won. • Combat help that knows your party: each hero's weapon, spells and potions, their chance to hit this enemy, and how long the fight should take. A DUNGEON MASTER THAT LISTENS • Speak your commands; button names, numbers and directions are understood first. • Chat with the DM, with a recap when you leave. • If your AI key stops working, the game tells you why, links to the right page, and offers another brain. BUILT FOR VOICEOVER • The story can come a page at a time instead of scrolling, with less text if you like — both switched on by VoiceOver itself. Every button is named, empty places say "Blank", and a guide describes each screen's layout. AND MORE • an Atlas of every floor you've mapped; adjustable timers; font sizes down to Tiny; a little magick for the stuck. • Game Center multiplayer is included as an early preview. • Much faster saving and loading, many fixes — and saves from 2.4 still load. ---

Good game but need local AI server options

I love DND games with intelligent DM. But I’m looking forward to more AI options provided, like local AI sever, which is OpenAI-compatible.

Response from developer

Ive improved the way it works with the basic on-board Apple AI now., which should improve it some. If you look under Settings (eg on the landing page) -> DM Settings -> Provider, you will see options for OpenAI (GPT), Anthropic (Claude) and Google (Gemini). If you provide API keys, then the AI DM will engage. You can customise the 'ad lib level' to get more out of the AI. I have put a more complete and robust set of buttons to help you do that. Does that improve things any for you or had you something else you were looking for? Or are you talking about connecting to a local AI on a machine on your local network? If you give me a clue as to the problem I can look into it.

Enjoying it.. but

Finish the item/trade aspect. Wandering vendors don’t happen and rooms with a vendor don’t do anything.

Fun, at First…

After a while of playing, I find myself bombarded with repetitive combat and unable to locate a shop to sell my junk; ultimately, I’m running a fully loaded party with basic equipment, hella gold and sellable junk, and no way to buy and sell anything. The game’s getting frustrating and boring. Skip this one.

Response from developer

I appreciate that comment, and have responded to the lack of merchants in this new release.

Excellent game just one problem for me

This is an all-around excellent game that I’m really enjoying. I’m only having one problem and that is with the merchants. I found two of them in the dungeon so far and I cannot find the visit the merchant button in the actions or anywhere else if you could fix this or tell me what I’m doing wrong so I can sell my stuff. I would really appreciate it. I will tell others about this game. Thank you.

Response from developer

This is re-worked for V 3.0 and should work as you'd expect. I have also made sure that quests are more up-front and a more important part of the game play.

Gemini keys aren’t working

When the key is generated it starts with AQ instead of Aiza so I’m not sure if you can get it working with AQ but that’d be good if you could. Thanks

Response from developer

It is true that it gives a message 'Note: Google keys normally start with AIza...' even though my key starts AQ, but it works anyway now in new version (3.0). Let me know if further problems
