DocAura: PDF Scanner & OCR

OPEN FILES IN DOCAURA FROM ANY APP DocAura now appears when you tap Share on a PDF or photo in Files, Mail, Safari and other apps. The file is copied into My Files and is ready for every tool — compress it, sign it, merge it, print it. If you're in the middle of something, DocAura just tells you where the file went and leaves your work exactly as it was. SEARCH FINDS WHAT'S WRITTEN INSIDE YOUR FILES Searching My Files used to match file names only. It now also looks inside your PDFs, so "Scan 14" turns up when you search for the landlord's name printed on it. Files whose names match still come first. TEXT RECOGNITION READS MORE THAN ENGLISH Scans in French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and more now get a proper searchable text layer, accents included. Until now, text recognition read English only, so words like "crème" or "Straße" came out wrong or not at all. This applies to new scans; older ones keep the text they were saved with. ONE QUESTION, ONCE After DocAura has saved a few files for you, it may ask once for a rating on the App Store. That box is Apple's, it appears only on the home screen and never over something you're working on, and you can dismiss it. It won't ask again for this version. NOTHING NEW LEAVES YOUR DEVICE Files you open in DocAura are copied onto this iPhone or iPad and nowhere else. The text used for search is read on your device and kept in memory — it is not uploaded or stored anywhere new. The app still makes one network request: asking the App Store for the current version number, at most once a day, with nothing about you, your files, your identity or your usage attached.
