About
Dochi is the Israeli Hebrew Institute's way to learn the Hebrew people actually speak in Israel, a few minutes at a time.
EVERY MORNING you should do ONE TASK - so you stay in the Hebrew loop
its a short task that waits for you each weekday: translate a line, say something out loud, explain a word, get through a small scene. Answer in writing or with your voice. Then see the teacher's model answer and compare.
A COURSE THAT BUILDS
Lessons go from your very first words to real conversations: introducing yourself, what you want and need, going and coming, asking questions. Each lesson is split into short screens with a small try after each block, and you can test yourself past what you already know.
WORDS THAT STAY
Every word comes with a real sentence and its sound. A review deck brings each word back just before you would forget it, in Latin letters or in Hebrew letters with vowels.
SPEAK, NOT JUST READ
Record yourself and hear the Hebrew read by your teacher. Switch between transliteration and Hebrew script whenever you like.
LEARN WITH PEOPLE
On the Community plan, join a live weekly session on Zoom with Tamir, your teacher, and learn in a chevruta: a small group that meets every week, the way Hebrew has been studied for two thousand years.
MADE BY TEACHERS
Dochi is built by the Israeli Hebrew Institute, whose teachers have taught Hebrew to learners around the world. Dochi the hoopoe, Israel's national bird, keeps you company along the way.
New members start with a free week with everything open.
