You can answer maybe 5 questions and then you get a 30second + ad. You will spend more time watching the ads than actually playing the quiz. Not worth it…

I love this app I have been learning breeds since I was ten but this has opened up much more breeds to me just yesterday I passed the expert level without losing any stars this has been very helpful.

Hi, if ur seeing this, Doberman is spelled without an extra n even though some people think so because that is how you spell Karl Fredrick Louis Dobermann. Also, Dobermans are the sweetest and arguably the most trainable dog out there! Please update description! Thanks

How This App Changed My Life
I was in a fifty-seven hour road trip from Guatemala to Iceland to meet my long-long second cousin twice removed. I was very excited until I realized I had no entertainment. I was walking to my car from Chick-Fil-A when I noticed that my phone was taped to my back for some reason this whole time, so I took it off. After entering my password, ABC123, I searched through my phone looking for a good game. I had no WiFi, but I realized one of my apps don’t need WiFi: Dog Breeds!!!!!!!! I started playing over and over again for over two hours. After failing a ton of times, I decided to actually learn the dog breeds. It was so amazing, because not only can you be quizzed on dog breeds, but you can also be educated while doing so! By the time I was in Iceland, I was on the top 100 of guessing dog breeds in Kazakhstan! After reuniting with my second cousin twice twice removed, Guacamole Ketchups |||||. I figured out that he also has the app Dog Breeds, and he’s in the top fifty of dog breed guessing of Kazakhstan!!!!!!!!!! We bonded so greatly of dog breeds that we became besties overnight. Fast-forward twenty years, and me and Guacamole were thirty-nine. We hung out allllllllllll the time. Eventually, we went to the store and met this nice guy named Bryan McSeashells. We talked about mustard for a little while, and eventually that came to a discussion about the app Dog Breeds. It turns out he is in the top ten in guessing dog breeds in Kazakhstan! What a coincidence! Fast forward two years, me and Bryan McSeashells got married yesterday! Ryan McSheashell’s best man was none other than Bryan’s bestie, Jimmy Cupcakes! That is how this app changed my life.
BTW, I’m #1 at dog breed guessing in Kazakhstan right now!

From someone in the dog fancy this is disappointing
So I’m in the dog fancy and can name most breeds recognized by the AKC. This is most likely produced by people in the UK based on the names used for some breeds, but unfortunately there are multiple breeds that are either the wrong picture for the breed listed as the answer, I wouldn’t have an issue if everything was accurate. Expert is easy because they choose completely different looking breeds for the other options, some photos are of dogs that don’t adhere to the breed standard (regardless of if they’re using the AKC, CKC, the KC, or FCI). They use a lot of puppies for photos which is a poor choice considering that they don’t also do adult representations of the same breeds. The descriptions are either super obvious or just poor in choice. There’s also an obnoxious amount of ads. As for the people complaining about no “pit bulls” most of those commenters don’t realize that 1) no dog is a “nanny dog” and it’s harmful to put dogs in those positions to have children cross their boundaries the only breed actually given the term “nanny dog” (albeit unethical in premise) is the Staffordshire Bull terrier. 2) the majority of “pit bulls” people see in shelters or what people call “pit bulls” are actually just bully mixes, there’s the American Pit Bull Terrier, the American Staffordshire Terrier, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, the American Bulldog, and more. So including a generic “pit bull” would be factually incorrect. 3) The only “Pit bull” is the American Pit bull Terrier and they are bred to be dog aggressive for dog fighting before that was made illegal.
Regardless of other people’s comments in the reviews, this app is subpar as to accuracy, photo choices, ad frequency, and questions/facts being poor. This would be much better if those things were addressed. I would recommend to the developer that they use The KC and the AKC website to inform their choices of photos and facts about breeds that they use to improve the accuracy. And also creating an actual expert mode, I’ve had my hands on the top representations of almost every breed they used in their “expert” mode and I’d at best consider it advanced not considering the glaring errors.

Horrible English, tons of ads, dogs have wool?
The descriptions are often badly written, sometimes so badly that thy are unintelligible. There are obviously translation errors, unless several breeds of dog have wool instead of fur or hair. Then there are the frequent, long ads, that are often violent. Not a game that is suitable for children. However, if you are an adult, don’t mind ads, and don’t read the descriptions, it can be educational.

Лучше либо интересные факты про все породы подписывать, либо вырезки исторических справок (где, кто вывел породу и ее использование, например). Анатолийская овчарка в описании подчеркнута как ‘кангал’, а у таких пород как новошотландский ретривер (толлер), лаготто-романьоло (итальянская водяная собака), португальская водяная собака (португез, кан-дигуа) и др. альтернативного названия не указано, хотя это достаточно познавательно. Можно также указать, что собака(и) были или являются собаками кого-то из популярных личностей (корги — королева Елизавета 2; португез — был у Обамы и его звали Бо (Бо Обама) и его называли ‘первой собакой США’ и тд.)
И фото — не на каждой фотографии эталонный или просто близкий к эталону представитель. По фотографии щенка так вообще сложно понять породу (можно разве что понять к какой группе относится порода, но не породу), как на фотографиях с финской лайкой (финский шпиц в приложении) совершенно непонятная фотография собаки с огромными белыми пятнами (по стандарту большие белые пятна на груди - дисквал.порок) или шведский вальхунд, на фото щенок — даже если человек запомнит породу заучив фото, то как узнает, как выглядит эта порода?
Ну, и описания характера — большинство кинологов скажет ‘огромное спасибо’ за отсутствие в большинстве описаний пород цитат со странных сайтов о том, как какие-то породы сложно обучить, какие они упрямые и т.п., это реально важно.
Но викторина классная, скачала, чтобы без интернета было чем заняться и молодому человеку своему подпихивать в руки со словами ‘давай, угадай!’
