About

Is it too hot to walk the dog right now? Dog Walk Weather answers that in one glance. It estimates the pavement surface temperature, factors in the heat index and your dog's breed and size, then gives you a simple verdict: safe, caution, danger or don't go. ▶ WALK-NOW VERDICT A single safety grade built from estimated pavement temperature, air temperature and humidity, adjusted for your dog's size and whether it's a flat-faced (brachycephalic) breed that overheats faster. ▶ PAVEMENT HEAT ESTIMATE On a sunny day asphalt can run far hotter than the air. We estimate surface temperature from sun and weather, and remind you of the 7-second hand test so you always have the final say. ▶ TODAY'S GOLDEN HOURS An hour-by-hour safety curve highlights the two best windows to head out — usually early morning and evening — so you can plan the walk around the heat. ▶ WINTER MODE When it turns cold the app flips to cold limits by breed size and coat, plus a reminder to rinse salt and grit off paws after a walk. ▶ BUILT FOR DOG OWNERS Add your dog's name, weight, breed group and photo. Weather comes from the Open-Meteo model for your location. Enable location for live local readings, or browse sample data offline. Pavement temperature is an estimate, not a measurement at your exact spot, and varies with surface and shade. Always use the hand test and your own judgment. Includes ads. No account needed.
