Great but please fix

My family has grown to love this app. My kids go to sleep with it every night! But perhaps because of some iOS update in the last month or so, it will no longer play smoothly. It starts the first five seconds then stops, on both our iPhone and iPad. Please fix! My son says he can’t sleep if he can’t hear the salve Regina every night….

Wonderful!

Thank you, it’s is wonderful to listen to your singing! Beautiful!

<3 compline

My fav hours in a Dominican setting. This is a great way to draw anyone into the praying life of the OPs. Being more familiar with the ways of the Western Province, I notice some subtle differences in the text and music.

I'd love to see the Latin Completarium incorporated in here even if audio is not available.

This has been a really peaceful way to end each night.

Keep up the good work!

Response from developer

Hi! Thanks for the review. Regarding your first request: This was an issue with iOS that Apple fixed with iOS 12.2. If you upgrade your iPhone this issue will resolve itself. Blessings!

Bugs with app

It’s an app with good potentials. Unfortunately, whenever I roll my screen, the audio of the singing stop. Please try to update a new version. God bless.

Dominican compline

Can you put Lauds and Vespers with this app

Response from developer

Hi! Thanks for rating our app. At the moment we are focusing on Compline, but several users have asked for Lauds and Vespers as well. We will certainly take it into consideration for the future. Thanks again!

Very useful app

I am thoroughly pleased with this app. I especially like how the entire night’s prayer is recorded. This helps me as a Lay Dominican feel a sense of community with the Order when I do compline on my own. I’m also not the most musically inclined so the recording helps me sing/chant correctly. If there was a similar app for the other offices in the Dominican rite, I would download it in a heartbeat. I realize that is quite a tall order though. Thank you for creating this very useful app.

Praying with the Dominicans

What a wonderful app. I am going through my discernment process to become a lay Dominican and praying Compline with the friars makes me feel closer to the Order. I love this app!!

Thank you

As a diocesan Priest this is a fantastic app to support the art of prayer!

LEGIT AWESOMENESS

As a lay Catholic who isn’t a religious, I’ve been fond of the Liturgy of the Hours ever since I discovered their existence. Alas, I've never been able to incorporate any of the Offices into my everyday life for various reasons (and if I’m being honest: my desire to incorporate *any* part of the Liturgy of Hours into my life has been compromised by the fact I don’t know *how* to beautifully sing any of the Offices in a beautiful way by myself). And it’s not like I can just pick up my life and go visit a religious community every time I have an inclination to pray the Liturgy of the Hours.

This app (especially with the audio) is like bringing the Dominican Friars’ oratory into my life! The app is easy to use and the Friars chant Compline in such a sacred, reverent, and beautiful way. Thanks to this app, I too now have the means to be able to participate in this beautiful prayer of the Church in a beauty-inspiring, contemplative, and engaging way! To God be the Glory! So far I've been using this app by myself to pray Compline but I foresee sharing this app and using it in group settings as well in the future (I'll just need a Bluetooth-enabled speaker to pick up the audio from the app to make that happen as just listening to a smartphone's speakers in a large group won't cut it I don't think). A BIG “thank you” to the app developers — a worker deserves his pay. ^^ May God continue to bless many people and raise up saints through the utilization of this app❤️💖💖

Compline: the best office of the day

This app allows you to follow the short service of Compline (the Christian prayers said before going to bed) while listening to it being sung by the brothers of a Dominican Monastery in America. The clarity & beauty of the sound is such that it feels like you are present with the brothers in their chapel and the text (& music) allows you to participate with ease.

Compline is a restful "putting down" of the burdens of the day and invocation for a peaceful night. I recommend this app for old-hands, new-explorers and those in-between. Although usually prayed before going to bed, this app may also be useful for those who wake during the night.

I hope that the friars will use this same method of text and sound to share the other offices of the day. A small word of warning - when you have pressed play on the app, it might appear as if nothing is happening. Just wait, it is working, it is the silence before the worship begins (as there would be if we were actually present with the brothers in their church).
