Great Game!
So far this is really good! As someone who is addicted to PolyBuzz and C.ai this really helped me get off of those two apps!
Hearts!?
I really like this game, the games are really fun however i think it’s unfair to only allow choices to be made with hearts which cost money!!! I think we should be able to either earn hearts in some way (paid options to speed up the process), had all heart choices to be able to be made in sapphires or be able to convert sapphires to hearts

Have enjoyed, but now there AI
I have enjoyed this app and the stories within it for a long time now. However I have noticed that generative AI is being used and allowed by creators of stories and I think that is incredibly antithetical to the original ethos of this app. Which as for real artists + creatives to create enjoyable stories, stories and character from their brains and hands AND for these artists to get paid for their work/art. Not from a LLM that steals and plagiarizes from other artists and harms the earth.
I will not pay money to these people who make ANY part of their stories with Generative Ai. Using Ai means that this is not solely their work.
Even after submitting a support request, they confirmed that Ai usage IS ALLOWED “as long as it doesn’t go against guidelines”. I think that’s BS. When I first joined Dorian I remember their stance being that these are stories created by Real people, with real art and no Ai.
What happened to that stance?

My honest opinion - read before getting app
I dont really use the app anymore, I really did like the stories, but there were a few things that bugged me, and made it so I stopped using it. I still wanted to write a review though.
I read shark bait, slashfic, etc, I liked the stories (sometimes it was.. weird) and art. However, its always set from a female perspective... I am a guy, I really wish they had a pronoun/gender option for ALL stories. Not just like three stories that maybe one person reads.
You cant really enjoy it free.. the stories are mostly flirting, and in a scene where its like "Do you kiss them?" Your options are "Yes - 10000 hearts" or "No I hate them I want to never see them again - free" which is a bit un enjoyable. Your options are: spend money and make out with whoever you want, or play free and say no to everything. Im broke, but Id love to support indie creators.
A concern of mine is that generative AI is being used for some of the stories, either to help write them or for the art, sometimes its obvious, and sometimes I wondered if what I was reading was human made. I am an artist, I am actively against AI and I dont want to read something generated by machine. Its possible that the devs arent aware, or they dont care. Please fix this, or monitor whats on your app more.
A smaller concern, but something that bothers me and probably others, as an autistic person, some things are mildly triggering, so have off buttons for features like haptics/vibrations, brighter colors, buttons covering the screen, idk, less overstimulating.
Overall, the stories were okay, some were good. They feel like they are only made for the female perspective, and it has to be oddly freaky with most stories. I understand that it cant be entirely free, but for the love of all active users, make it more enjoyable, and easier to get hearts and gems or whatever. Not everyone can participate in events or log in every single day. I hope the app gets better, my overall experience wasnt bad, just occasionally boring. That is all. (For now)

Pay to win.
I only got to episode 2 of a story before I lost interest. You have to pay for in game currency to pick any GOOD options in a story. The stories and art are creative, but they are incredibly boring to play when you’re forced to choose the worst option. Even if you were to buy the in game currency, it is stupidly expensive for a small amount. I would likely pay if it was a fair price, but I find it wasteful to pay 3 dollars for something that will only last me 3 episodes.

A feature I loved about this game was getting to stream and participate in quizzes through the streams but the options are gone. This has ruined my experience and I know that many other people are also upset with this. I miss gaining hearts by winning the quizzes that people set up. If Dorian does another update, I pray that they bring back streaming.

not really worth it
this app is simply a cluster of micro transactions and unfinished stuff, they ruined incredible games by buying them and milking every last bit of money they could from them. Dorian is a like an EA wannabe

This game is great but somehow even when I updated my username it won’t even appear once in stories and whenever I reach a level for a character or whatever I get to unlock a free spicy scene but it won’t give me it which is pretty annoying

I cannot recommend this app enough for lovers of romance and otome games. My favorite stories are Whistle From The Fog, Shark Bait: Riptide, Holmes: Science of Seduction, and Hellbent (shout-out to Gusty, Magpie, and Morella for being masterful puppeteers of my heart strings). I love getting to be a part of the story rather than just reading it and there’s something for just about anyone to enjoy because of the wide variety this app offers. The premium choices can be expensive but are necessary to support the creators so they can keep creating content; also the cost varies from one story to another and the vast majority of them are enjoyable even on a budget due to many creators allowing the use of sapphires instead of hearts for some premium choices. There are many opportunities to earn sapphires as well. Though I’d like to add that I appreciate when creators provide the option to pay once and unlock all or almost all of the premium options in a character’s route. One of my only complaints is that it can be too easy to accidentally spend hearts/sapphires. This happens to me mostly at the end of an episode when I accidentally leave a tip while tapping a little too quickly because I’m trying to get to the next episode. Adding an option in the settings to require a double-tap or confirmation of sorts before spending hearts/sapphires would take away a lot of frustration. I really hope you’ll take this into consideration and make that addition in the future. Thank you for providing this much-needed sanctuary for freaks and geeks and hopeless romantics alike!

It’s time to lower costs or cheapen hearts because this has become disproportionately valued.

It's really a good story app I get invested for hours but if we could make our own char to talk to the ones in game it can be so much better 🙏

I absolutely love this! My only issue is I wish you could actually interact more but other than that the story line is great and the characters are def 🤭🤭
For developers
I know the artists and writers do very well, and I don’t mind an upfront payments. For example “Pay X amount for a pass” however with certain stories the free currency can’t be applied to an “extra” scene. Which it used to be every time even with plot points.

So much potential but..
I absolutely love the game and artstyle! It’s so unique and fun but ALL of the good romantic options are locked behind a paywall. I get they’re indie developers but maybe they could put in a system of ads for hearts or something? It’s just kind of hard to enjoy when you’re broke. If you have money it’s 5/5 but for me that experience was taken down to a 3.5/5 just due to the pay wall and no other options. Still gave it five because I can tell how much work was put into it and I also know it can be five for others.
