DRIFT: Above the World

Leave the noise behind. Find your place in the sky. DRIFT is a gentle aerial flying experience that lets you explore Amsterdam from above using satellite scenery from Apple Maps. Take control of a sleek Perlan 2 glider, or slow down and drift with the wind in a hot air balloon. TWO WAYS TO FLY • GLIDER — Bank, pitch and trade altitude for speed. Seek out simulated thermals to stay aloft. • HOT AIR BALLOON — Use the burner to climb, vent to descend, and change altitude to discover different wind directions. There is no steering wheel: the wind carries you. SEE THE WORLD DIFFERENTLY • Explore photographic satellite scenery, with an optional Hybrid map view. • Enable Wind Sense to discover thermals or read the balloon's wind direction. • Watch your altitude, speed and flight information in a simple on-screen display. • Orbit the camera with two fingers, pinch to zoom, and reset to the chase view. • Play with touch controls or a compatible game controller. DRIFT is about the pleasure of being airborne. There are no enemies, no combat and no complicated cockpit procedures. Just two very different aircraft and the freedom to enjoy the view. DRIFT uses simplified flight physics and simulated winds, not live aviation weather. It is an entertainment experience, not a real-world flight or navigation tool. Satellite and 3D detail vary by location. An internet connection is required to load map imagery.
