No longer works
Been using this app since 2017, sad to see the app hasn’t been updated in 9 years because it does (did) work well! Up until today, when you try to open, it crashes within one second. iOS 17.1.1 iPhone 13 Pro

I paid ten dollars for an app that continually crashes.
A GREAT resource!
I have been using this app as a band director of a competitive marching band for three years. It has proven to be an invaluable tool in making our groups better. I highly recommend!
Once was great but now appears to be abandoned
I have owned the app for a few years now and when it was working it was fantastic. Now I am running iOS 11 on an iPad pro and it will not open coordinate sheets from Pyware. The app developer’s Facebook page doesn’t appear to have been updated for a year. I am incredibly disappointed because this app was truly game changing when it did what it was designed to do. I loved the animation features it provided over carrying three ring binders full of charts.

Desperately needs bug fixes
Can't publish a show to other devices - staff and students rendering the app pointless. Was great prior - Not compatible with IOS 10
Buyer beware....
So much great potential with this app, but efforts to get a response from "support" are futile.
iOS 9 had some bugs in rendering Pyware coordinate sheets, but it was something I tweaked on my own because the end result was worth it.
Now with iOS 10, I can't even import a show. I have 2/3s of our field show on the app and need to use a traditional drill book for the closer.
A real shame because this app was proving to be quite useful....

Outstanding Drill App
Great for viewing and cleaning drill! I wish there was a better way to enter instructions and sync across devices.
Best drill cleaning app ever!
-The app is very accessible for band directors to find a performer's spot right away, share their coordinate with them if they need it and where their midpoint is if you're cleaning it in that fashion.
-The app is also good for having performers "be props" so you know your stage in advance and the kids know where to go without "hitting" any stage designed props. (Tip for band directors: have your drill writer write coordinates for props in your drill and this app plugs those prop locations in!)
-This app is the perfect cleaning drill app for a band director who doesn't need to run around the field, but stand up on his/her band tower with their long ranger!
-The "by the counts" feature is great for pass-throughs, midpoint drills, and rotation of forms.
-You can also showcase this drill app by projecting it with your iPad (with proper cables) and show every performer their spot (highlighted by touch screen) throughout the whole show. I have shown my students where their spot is throughout the show when I'm down on the field cleaning drill and it really helps!

Great app!
I've been using this app with my college marching band as a section leader. It's a great tool to have on the field for section leaders, staff, and directors. Once you have drill loaded up you can watch drill animation, be able to find any dot on the field, and even customize the field!
I think the only thing that I would like to see different is be able to customize the color of the main field not just the endzones.

Awesome job
I am on staff for a marching band in Arizona. We use this app with the staff to plan exactly how I teach each drill move. Also, having a super easy way to see each person's spot on the field and being able to track their motions is great.

Great App
Uploaded my pdf coordinates and had a fully animated show in 10 seconds! Great tool for showing students how forms transition from set to set and after each individual step. I'm still learning the layout of the app but I am blown away by the functionality of the app!

I use this for marching band, and I love it. But, I think the director/drill designer should be able to put music into the show so you know what set matches which music

Fantastic app! It's really easy to navigate and understand. The only thing is that the app crashes whenever I try to add a graphic to the center of the field.

This app has tons of potential. Quick learning period and smooth performance are great, but it needs to be able to import and sync music for a full 5 stars. Really excited to see how it develops!

It has a few bugs, and the preview of shows plays frame by frame (or step/count by step/count), and it would be nice to be continuous instead.

Simply the best drillbook app on the App Store
As a band director, I've fallen victim to carrying around the "large binder of charts" that the profession demands. Not any more!! Upon seeing what this app can offer, it's well worth the price, both for students and directors. Seeing every dot on the field in motion and, at any time, having the ability to click on a member and see their dot book coordinate is a massive timesaver and makes rehearsals infinitely more efficient.
If you're a director, my suggestion is to spend the extra 2-3 dollars and upgrade to pro. Many more features and perks that would really only benefit those in charge. If you're a student, the basic version will certainly be more than enough, particularly for "visual learners."
Please understand that this is NOT a drill writing program! You technically can write drill using DrillBook, but it's clumsy and unintuitive. If you're looking for a great drill book program on iOS, this is by far the best and the competition is not even close.

Every time I try to add a show it shuts down. Why isn't there a way to get $ back for worthless apps.
Wonderful tool for drill
Beautiful, well polished, feature rich, prefect for quickly knowing what the drill should look like and the exact coordinates for any student. I no longer have to wait for a student to pull out their drill coordinates to tell me where they should be, now I just ask what there drill number is and I can look it up faster and more efficiently. Only issue is that it does not support follow the leader or rotations in the animation, but considering how the app works, that is understandable. Thank you for developing such a fantastic and much needed app!
