Works about 30% of the time
Even with proper lighting and framing, the detection of pocketed shots, as an example, is very spotty. You will likely manually tag about half of the shots. The logic applied is only very generously dubbed AI as it does not identify balls sent to the wrong pocket, walking around the table in front of the camera causes issues, other balls (such as in a pile as is typical with drills) break the logic, etc. With a bit of work it has potential, but the AR logic needs a lot of work before it’s a worthwhile investment.

Cost
I understand I must have taken you a big effort to develop this app, but the subscription price you are asking limits the amount of people willing to pay. Your monthly cost is higher than a movie streaming subscription.
Really want this to work
When it works, it’s amazing. Unfortunately, I spend most of my time tricking the camera to re-analyze the table. Despite the constant recalibration, it will eventually lose all semblance of position and I have to restart the app and whatever drill I was doing.
I have gray felt against a dark room. I’ve tried all sorts of angles and positions in the room. I get that some set ups may be tricky, but this shouldn’t be.
I kept waiting for it to get better but it never did.

Been a longtime user
I have been using drill room for over two years. It is a fun way to practice and it let’s you focus on the drill by keeping score automatically. It also has outstanding features that analyze your shots and takes videos that you can watch and see what you might want to work on.
At a annual subscription price less than an hour with a coach. With new insights feature it tells you what shots you have been missing and should practice to improve. I am not saying it replaces a coach they have trained for years and a great coach is priceless if you like to complete at a tournament level. But most of us just enjoy the game and thrill of winning with friends. This app is perfect i tried it for 3 months before I decided to get an annual subscription. You should too!!! Let me know how you like it

Great when it works… which is almost never
Image recognition of my table failed several times with both the front and rear cameras of my iPad Mini and my iPad Pro. My pool table is well lit. I have the iPads mounted at over 6 ft with great visibility. I get 4 bars for framing and 5 for lighting.
Taking the first shot sometimes registers. The next shots usually fail with the error, “I can’t see the cue ball.” Many times, shots fail to register entirely, with no feedback at all.
I have uninstalled the app repeatedly, reset my iPads, redownloaded the apps. Stability is still poor.
This is an extremely frustrating app to use. I see the potential but it falls far short.

Love the idea
I worked with this a couple times over the past year spending a ton of time to try different things to get it working but it just doesn’t. Bought new tripod and moved camera and lighting around. Framing scores are very good but it doesn’t see balls touch other balls or suddenly ends drill thinking you missed for some reason. If tech gets better will be worth it just for BU by itself. Definitely doesn’t work in wagon wheel where you are supposed to carom into a ball- never had it call a success even once. Love the idea. Stream/mirror to my TV so can watch would love to have it work better.

Übungen soweit in Ordnung. Die Übersetzung in deutsche ist leider sehr schlecht, teilweise versteht man nicht, was die Übung sein soll.

Really nothing like it. But its not the greatest at seeing the table. Also would like to have the update notice fixed. I e-mailed support. Never heard back.
Can’t get balls to line up on camera
You’ll spend the whole time trying to get the app to recognize the balls are in position.

Misses 30 percent of the shots. Hard to use in the tripod. Setup difficult. Need voice control options. Great idea. Not there yet.
Doesn’t work on iPad waiting to pay for the membership until they add high level drills
Other then what I stated above I think this is a great app. Although I really wish it would work on my iPad much bigger screen would be helpful or if it could work on a computer to a web camera that way you can save all you videos aswell
Crashes
I am now not able to do any of the exercises. Every attempt to do any exercise the app crashes. I’ve reloaded the app and still the same issue. Fix please!!

Ich habe mich sehr über die neue Funktion gefreunt, mit der ich alle Übungen auf dem Snookertisch umsetzen kann. Eine neue Einstellungsmöglichkeit ermöglicht dies nun. Die App hilft mir fantastisch dabei eine konstante Trainingsroutine einzuhalten und durch die Statistiken verfolgen zu können. Regelmäßige Updates verbessern und optimieren die App immer weiter. Kann ich sehr sehr empfehlen.

Drill Room
Maybe Its just me who can’t setup up the Drill Room software correctly, but I’ve tried to do so on an iPad Pro, an iPhone 13 Max, two different types of tripods for the devices, and on a stationary table. No matter the effort, the software always says “framing too low” or it can’t see all the pockets.
My advice is subscribe for a month before making the annual purchase. Had I done so I’d only be out of $4.99 instead of $39.99.
My hat is off to anyone who can make this product work as advertised. I wish it did - it’s an awesome concept.

Hi Byron, we'd be glad to assist you with your DrillRoom setup if you contact us directly, which you can do within the app. Just for clarity's sake it's not required to purchase any subscription to make sure you can setup DrillRoom successfully, since there are many drills, of different categories available for free.

I like the app. A few crashes. Would be cool to have a break drill.

Also in unserem Vereinsheim mit dem iPhone 11 Pro Max nicht umzusetzen. Wir haben helle LED Lampen und es reicht der App nicht aus. Schade, hab mich drauf gefreut damit zu trainieren.

Macht Spaß
Eigentlich 5 Sterne wenn man sein Training auch Tage danach noch genau analysieren könnte. Auch eine deutsche Erklärung wäre bei manchen Aufgaben nicht schlecht, aber die meisten Aufgaben sind klar und verständlich was verlangt wird. Ab und zu sieht die App mehr Kugeln am Tisch aber ich denke mit Updates wird das immer besser und genauer werden. Ich zumindest werde die App weiter nutzen und wer weiß evtl spiele ich ja am Ende des Tages tatsächlich ein wenig besser.
