Missing important stuff
This app is misleading and that it misses lots of stuff including a critical permanent no fly zone in downtown Chicago. Specifically it’s missing all events but most importantly it’s missing an extremely restricted federal airspace over a prison. It’s always there. It’s always restricted. It just doesn’t appear on this map. Use a different app if you don’t want to violate a federal prison no fly zone that they take seriously.

you offer the weather radar yet provide no information to interpret what anything means. So sick of all you software people who always just throw things out as if people know exactly what they are. Everyone hates going on Reddit to find answers for your dumb software!
Not helpful
Bought and immediately canceled. The pro version doesn’t provide anything substantive over a free weather app. The app is also glitchy.
Don’t buy
This app is pretty much useless. There are many better apps. Wish I didn’t spend money on this to get pro version.

I downloaded DroneBuddy because I needed wind data. What I didn’t expect was emotional stability.
It’s the only app that didn’t try to romance me into a monthly subscription. No fake free trials. No ads playing peekaboo with my thumbs. Just wind charts. No-fly zones. A metric/imperial toggle. You know… features.
I tested ten others first. Half ambushed me with paywalls. The rest pretended to be free, then lunged at my wallet the moment I tapped anything. It was like dating apps, but for meteorology.
DroneBuddy? It remembered it was a tool. Not a casino. Not a slot machine wearing a Doppler radar hat. Just a piece of software doing its job, quietly, like it wasn’t trying to win a Webby for Most Engaging Notification.
I didn’t plan to leave a review. But in 2025, finding an app that works without trying to gaslight me into loyalty? That’s worth writing home - or here - about.

Misleading do not use
Does not contain red zones for things like hangliding or other air traffic alerts as such is totally useless and making you pay for what you get free in the dji app (which is itself useless)

Trial did not work!
I wanted to try this app so I selected the 3-Day trial option. The trial did not work! It just subscribed me for a year. Refund requested procedure underway.

great drone buddy best
I love the Drone Buddy it goes very high up in the air use my snaptain controller do 3D flip.
Ceilings not shown?
I see elevations of no-fly zones (like airports), but no information about flight ceilings in these areas.
Wrong maps
Flying drones is forbidden in provincial parks in Canada. It’s not shown on the map.

Experienced Part 107 Pilot
I have been using Drone Buddy for several years along with other paid subscriptions. This app whether the free version or not is accurate and reliable. The other paid apps are not as good as Drone Buddy specifically with wind measurements. The additional features of finding where to fly is excellent especially for those pilots near cities. I highly recommend this app.

Great app to have as a Buddy
I have been using this APP, Drone Buddy Pro for many years. I use it frequently. A few years ago I had an issue after an update. I wrote to support for help one day, during lunch, when I was in NM. The issue was resolved before I finished my meal.

Great app but useless for national parks
I really like the app, the idea of it, how it works, it can be a bit slow especially the no fly map can take a couple of clicks but in the last 2 countries I have used the app the app doesn’t show national parks, so I’ve paid my permit and my insurance but can’t fly hardly anywhere, unfortunately drone buddy doesn’t show this, Thailand is the latest one and the app is basically pointless here.
