Drone Pilot (UAS) Test Prep User Reviews

Good study app marred by UI shortcomings

I’ve found the questions and explanations to be quite good in preparing for the test. The reasoning behind each question is thorough and precise.

However, the UI could use some work. The most egregious issue is looking at the charts and figures. The zoom and pan functionality is difficult to use and unlike other iOS pdf viewers (in a bad way). If I had known this, I would have looked at other apps since this makes looking up information take much longer due to the wonky zoom behavior.

Links not working!

So far so good! I Just updated to the 2019 version inside Aviation Library some links goes to dauntless website more specifically the CFR Part 14 and AIM are not linked.

Great app but....

This is a great app for preparing for the test. I used the audio only feature to listen to and from work every day for about 4 weeks. The last 2 weeks I was averaging 90-98 on the practice tests, I went to take the test last Monday and the first 2 questions I’d never seen before, in total there were 5 questions that I didn’t see in the app. I was able to get 3 of the 5 right and passed with a 92% ! I’ve recommended this app to several people and would use it again if I had to, just be prepared for questions you may have never seen.

Passed twice using this app - worth it!

I used this for the initial exam and the recurrent test two years later. Passed both easily. I used this app with FAA study guide for initial exam, probably 20hrs of total study. Used only this app for recurrent with approx 6hrs of study to refresh. Best study material I’ve ever used.

Great Test Prep and Worth the Cost

This app is a great way to prep for the Part 107 test. I like how you can tag questions that are more difficult to answer and then group them together in a test simulation. Or, you can simulate a test using random questions. I tested myself both ways a total of about 10 times and made 92 (missed 5 of 60 questions) on the test. Plus I avoided the high cost being charged for some of the online courses.

This app is all you need to pass the exam.

Pretty much used this app exclusively to study, and in about a month (more time than I needed) I was prepared. I went through each section individually until I had seen all 560+ questions, then used the in-app tests. I got a 90 on the actual exam. I received my certification and honestly feel more knowledgeable in general about the rules, regulations, and finer points of drone flight. 10/10 would recommend.

Great app for passing the remote PIC test

Just passed my Remote PIC test yesterday using this app almost exclusively. The audio review works great. Listened to it consistently the week leading up to my exam. The practice tests and questions are identical to the real exam. Out of the 60 questions on the actual exam almost half of them were sectional chart questions. Using only this app you can pass the test. My only complaints are the audio quality of the recordings could be more professionally done especially listening to them in the car all the mic pops and extraneous noise in the locations they were recorded was distracting. In a few of them there is audio distortion and even someone's lawn service can be heard in them. The content is spot on though. It would also be great if while attached to a Bluetooth device you could skip to the next audio question using the device. Like an external speaker, headphones or car stereo next track button. Other than those minor things it is worth the price.

Great tool, easy to use, smart-worth the $$

This is a great tool and is probably the only study aid you'll need to pass the part 107 test. I highly recommend this app, even with its price tag-it's worth it.

Don't be decieved

Used this app thinking I was learning from actual test questions, turns out the actual part 107 test has completely different questions. I was getting almost perfect scores on the app and failed the first try to my test. If I had to do it again I would find a different test prep solution or understand in advance that the answers in this app will be different on the test.

I Passed!

This app was a great aid in my studying for part 107! I highly recommend it as an aid to studying. Combined with other other educational assets proved to be a recipe for success.

I passed my 107 today

Before I got the app I had no knowledge of anything on the 107 exam. I studied only the material in this app for about 5 days before taking my exam this morning and passed with an 80%. The real test consists of a lot of the same questions I saw in the app so for that it is easily worth the money. Put the study time in with this app and read the explanations and you will pass with no problem.

Passed the test!

Studied for a month and scored an 82% on the test. Half the test is sectional chart / airspace questions, so make sure you have that down. Good luck!

Passed using only this app!!!

I was getting 80-90% on my quizzes in this app. 10 hours of Studying total. Took the FAA test and got 82%. This is all you need.

Great study app

I got a 95% percent on the test using this study app. The explanations for each practice question is a full explanation of what the test standard is looking for and why. The format was easy to understand and follow.

Very good app, but use more than this.

This app does a great job of reinforcing the information in a Q&A format. It's not a class with tests, but a bunch of questions that then give the answers. The explanations are nicely done, and give direct reference to the actual Part 107 citation.
I would recommend using other sources as well, however. Read the test prep guides provided by the FAA and some of the other free sources out there.
By using this method, I passed the test with a 92%...

Very Good App...Passed!

Very easy to use. I love that you can concentrate on certain aspects of the test. The majority of my test questions concentrated on the ability to read your VFR sectional charts, but I believe if you really "know" this material within this app you will do well on the actual exam. I spent roughly 2-weeks utilizing this app. I finished the test in about 40 mins and scored a 92. Very pleased.

App

I bought this app for $40 and failed my exam! I went through all questions to score a 96% on the test with the app, to take the real examine and find out I scored a 65.

Great way to study

I tried several different methods to study for the part 107 small UAS exam, and this app was the most convenient. It provides detailed answers and explanations, and the mix of questions were very similar to the actual exam. I just took the exam and passed with an 87% so I am pretty happy. You won't pass the exam if you don't study, and this app is the best way I found to study. The app is also updated regularly. I found one of the questions unclear, submitted a complaint, and they responded within a day and fixed the question. Thanks!

I Passed my Part 107...so will you!

This app was my main study prep for the FAA Part 107 exam. I passed the very challenging exam with a 90% score. This app covers all the concepts you'll need to know and is far more comprehensive than the FAA study guide. You're spending $150 for the test...invest $40 to make sure you pass...plus you'll have all the material needed to re-certify in two years. Highly recommended...!!!

Get it! You will pass the test!

I was waiting for an app that would for those of us desiring to acquire the 107 certification, an effective surprisingly simple and refreshing way to prepare for the test. This is it. Period.

The Ground School Study App gives you only what you need to pass the test and it fun and lite.

Just ran across it yesterday in the App Store and don't feel like Aw gee I have to study this. It's right brain pleasant. I could pass the test tomorrow with an afternoon at the beach or the park using this.

I used a program very similar to this to pass a motorcycle written exam and the Pvt. Pilot's written exam over one weekend many years ago. (Cassettes) lol. Started on a Friday evening and Monday morning aced the test at a certified FAA TESTING CENTER. My friends were stuck in a four month community college ground school examine course and I had moved on. Don't waste your time - get it, you will pass the test then move on.
