Got it

I scored 98% on my Advanced. This app was my primary study tool.

Easy to use

Useful and easy-to-use app for drone/RPAS info.

Update your test questions

Test questions not helpful anymore. Basic exam now has 50 questions and 60 minutes time with passing rate of 80. And questions are much different.

Response from developer

Hello. Those are the metrics for the Advanced Exam. The basic exam requirements remain unchanged. Please research and check the Transport Canada website.

Well made and easy to use

Good application to study from. This was the best resource I had found online to practice testing. I’ll be returning to this when I need to for the recency requirements. Thanks

Not enough info to study

Advanced exam is terrible. Do you know that there are symbols and flight charts that questions are asked on? You have no vfr charts, no symbols. You are really missing 3/4 of the advanced exam. Have the writers of this app ever taken the advanced exam? You are lacking a lot of important information!

Hi Scooterlama, please turn on "hints" to the questions, located in the Settings tab. That may help you with the information you need!

Excellent App.

I’m 82 years old man and I never expected I could passed 74% basic exam with this App.
I can’t believe that
I’ve got Transport Canada certificates.
I strongly recommended this App.
It’s very valuable for money and knowledge.
Thank you Drone RPAS Exam Canada !!

It is a nice study tool

I wanted something to supplement other study tools and I found this app to be helpful. The repetitive "flash card" nature helps those of us who need repetition to learn random facts:)

Another reviewer didn't like the chance to fully review two of the modules for free while "test flying" the app? I'd like to point out that this is the nature of "trial versions" :)

Excellent preparation tool

After completing the app study, I attempted the gov exam and passed on my first attempt. Highly recommend!

Best study ap for the money.

This is really the best app to study for your advanced exam. Really awesome app.

Response from developer

Hi Sonos. We cannot cover the exact answers and questions, as that's against the Transport Canada rules. We're happy the Drone RPAS app is a big part of your journey! We understand you have had trouble with your mobile device and getting certification. It's tough! You can alternatively reach us from a computer with dronerpasexamcanada@gmail.com for questions. Thanks!

Passed my Basic. Good content

Spent a week studying, maybe 10 hours total. Basic is a hard exam but this app prepared me. I relied on hints a lot at first but I quickly started to become more proficient with practice. :) Thanks!

its ok

its ok but theres only two modules for free so you dont learn everything

Good app, but the advanced exam questions are quite different

This app is very helpful, but it will give you a false sense of confidence going into the advanced exam.
The RPAS Pilot Ground School app is a more thorough app available, but it costs more and it doesn’t quite motivate you as much because it covers so much of the technical detail in the CARs.

Response from developer

Hi Roger, the entirety of the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) content is included in the app and tested upon with the in-app mock exams. No resource material is allowed to copy actual exam questions, verbatim. Not everyone will pass first time. It is indeed a tough exam and you cannot expect to pass without putting the work in and also studying the CARs directly.

Excellent study comanion

This along with Don's video resources on YouTube, this app has been foundational to help me prepare for the advanced exam and feel ready to fly drones safely

Deceptive description

This app is listed as “Free”, but only 2 out of 8 modules can be accessed without in-app purchase. Third doesn’t count as “free” in my understanding of the term.

Response from developer

Hi John. This has always been a free to download and free to try app. There is no need to purchase if it does not meet your expectations. We believe this to be a much friendlier way of trialing the app without surprises from an outright purchase. The use of In-App-Purchases is quite standard within mobile app products. Please let us know if you need help with any other clarification. Thanks for your review nonetheless, despite the misunderstanding.

Passed. 77%

Wrote the basic exam 77%.

Practice questions were veryRelevant

Thanks

J

Non responsive developer/support

There’s now way to send a notes asking for assistance.

I paid and cannot access all modules.

Response from developer

Hi R. Bruce Specht, I hope you worked out why your default email was not working. We typically respond within 24 hrs to any questions or inquiry. You can always reach out via the "Contact Us" button in the Settings tab. If re-downloading the app, you can "Restore Purchases" to bring back any previous purchases.

thanks RPAS !

I passed my Nav Canada Exam on my first Attempt ! 88 % thanks guys !

Confused!

When saying altitude this course would have you say that 5400 above sea level should be read
Five Four Zero Zero

The study guide for the Restricted Operator Certificate (ROC-A) says that Altitude above sea level should be expressed in thousands plus hundreds of feet. In this case
Five Thousand Four Hundred

Which is correct?

It would appear that 5400 above ground level would be read
Five Four Zero Zero

Response from developer

Hi MooseMan1939, a recent update addressed this type of question by adding more description for context. The latter is correct when dealing with altitude above sea level. You can also write to us by email from the Settings page for any future questions. Thanks for reaching out!

The best app for RPAS exams

Great App! Helped me to pass my Advanced exams by helping me understand the areas I needed to study. The mock exams that come with the app are just perfect. I’d recommend this app to anyone thinking of getting their drone pilot’s license in Canada

One device only

Good resource. Easy enough to follow. Be aware that whatever device you put this app on that’s the only device it will work on (versus a sign in form of authentication). Too bad I didn’t read the fine print a little more closely…I probably would have seen this as a deal breaker

Response from developer

Hi Fadir! It's actually multiple device support! On your other Apple device, you can choose the "Restore Purchase" option. This will immediately allow users to use the full content through the same Apple ID. If you have any other questions, you can also reach out to us via the in app email prompt under Settings. Thanks!
