Has potential, but needs to work
The 3D is impressive, but the authorizations need some work. For example, 25 miles from Washington DC currurtly says it’s restricted, and it’s usually not. You can fly a drone in the SFRA and it should be a yellow warning, not a red no flyzone, only the 15 mile radius around DC is a no fly zone (FRZ). Also, the app is completely missing the property owners. Many places the airspace is fine to fly in but many public parks require permission, although all some do not. On the side of County and State roads vary as well. Many apps like this focus on airspace and totally forget permission to takeoff and land on property is required, even if the FAA says it’s OK to fly over. This can be misleading to new pilots, especially in public parks, sidewalks, and road shoulders with an app that the user expects to do everything for them. An API into Regrid would tremendously help this app.
