Convenient and easy to use
This app does a great job of streamlining the process of checking zones and checking in before using your drone. It is very easy to find out the flight restrictions for any location in Poland as well as any other people (legally) operating drones in the area. It keeps updated on temporary restrictions too. If there is an area with flight restrictions it provides the contact details to gain permission. I wanted to fly in Malbork but the area is in a military zone, so I called the number and it was very easily arranged. Five minutes later I got some great sunset shots.
There is only one downside, but it can be a nuisance. The app only works when you are in Poland. I get it for an app about operations in Poland, but the problem is that this means it is impossible to register in DroneTower (and the related website) until you arrive in the country. Even a Polish VPN didn’t seem to work. This is a real problem if you want to do some droning right away, especially since the “confirm your phone number” part of the form doesn’t seem to take foreign numbers and will require a slow email exchange.
