More useful than AirDrop
I manage four to five Macs in our household. this make it easy to move applications and critical files.

Do I have to turn off firewall to use? Please answer this question

For its purpose best there is by far. Been using it for years now. 5 Star.
way better than AirCopy or whatever that flaky Apple thing is called.
Once it’s installed it just works.
But on M- series Macs it can be a bit tricky because of GuardDog or Homelander or whatever Apples security theatre thing is called,
BTW I'm sure they’ve fix AirFlop, but I use DropCopy now, yaboosucks, Apple!

It just works.
Invaluable for me -- I got it for grabbing pictures for household inventory/insurance and find I'm using it for everything! Grabbing pictures for Etsy, eBay or my blog, quick pics to email to friends, anything I need to "keep" a copy -- DropCopy means I can just send the pictures from my iPhone to my MacBook Air (or even my ancient 2013 MacBook Pro!) without having to be sitting in front of the recipient machine to accept. :)
AND -- this works even when AirDrop has forgotten it's on a network.

A great little utility!
I’ve been using DropCopy Pro since 2012. It makes sending files to other Macs in my home office a breeze. I’m glad the developers have kept it going for all these years.

LOVE DropCopy!
This is one of my most essential utilities, especially helpful when you're on the same network but too far away for AirDrop.

I did NOT authorize DropCopy to renew this unused app that I tried to use more than a year ago WHICH DID NOT WORK for me, and I deleted in less than 6 hours, A YEAR AGO.

Gone back to vers 5.01
Vers 5.05 crashed regularly on desktop (M1 Mini) and laptop (M2 Air) and have gone back to vers 5.01 which is very stable.
It's an excellent utility - recommended for all Mac users, but 5.05 was unstable on my system and had to go.
Updated - vers 5.0.5
remains unstable, often crashing following a transfer. I have a Mac Mini M1 and a MB Air M2 on my home network. I transfer a lot of siles between the two machines, but I have to restart DropCopy after many transfers. Typically, but not always, it is the source (of the transfer) that crashes following the successful transfer.
Most annoying - used to be rock solid but not this app is very flaky.
Happy to troubleshoot with dev if useful.

Works really well
Here's an app that does what it is supposed to do and does it easily.
What AirDrop should be.
DropCopy has been a staple for years.. long before AirDrop. It's flexible, useful, and works as expected.
Awesome App!
Discovered this before AirDrop was a thing and I still like it better. Don't get me wrong, AirDrop is great, but DropCopy has many more useful features. Instead of marketing DropCopy as AirDrop for older Macs, they should market it as AirDrop on steroids.
