Crashy
Not a movie slate
Response from developer
Yes, exactly: it’s a professional tool and you have to pay to use the advanced features (the slate is free)! I don’t know how much you expected to pay for a professional tool, but here the deal is no more than 10 dollars… Anyway I’ll be glad to reply to your feedback at customercare@dslrciak.it.
Why a horrible pixelated digital clock?
Feature rich, elegant UI, ease of use. Amazing value.
The iPad version allows for making code markers during the recording which is v helpful.
The iPhone version does not.
For podcast recording I like to use my iPhone as the clapper board.
But the neat time code feature doesn’t appear to be included.
Am I missing something?
It’s still an awesome app.
Every now and then an App takes my breath away, not often, but just enough to maintain my faith. This digital clapper board has plainly been developed by a person who understands the triumvirate of videography, technology and user interface design. The details demonstrate this is a master craftsmen at work. - customizing the clapper board info - changing tones - writing scene notes - using the phone as a slave or master making this an autocue device - and the downloadable story board template .png which is then reimported once modified. Genius. [note to developer - it would be neat to be able to reorder scenes once imported. ] I like this so much I’ve added it to my Home Screen. Dev - One more neat feature would be for this to run on the iMac desktop [i tried] then it could be used for screen recordings too.] I did try other Digi boards. The in app ads will drive you nuts. If you value what you’re filming, invest in this app.
Glitchy
Dslr ciak is cool
Huge Potential
I think I can adapt my current workflow to use this app help with sync and cataloging whilst I really have no justification to spend out on timecoding hardware so this will save a fortune.
There’s a lot more to explore which makes this a great investment and my understanding is that there’s some really interesting stuff in the pipeline from the developer who is keen to optimise this into a powerhouse for film makers and videographers.
Can’t wait to see what they do with an already top notch product.
The money was worth my time
Good but not intuitive
Great layout but crashes
Response from developer
Hi, yes it was a known bug but it's been fixed in version 5.54. Now it's working regularly. Sorry for that and thank you for your report. If you want to get in touch, please write me at customercare@dslrciak.it.
Found a bug.
I am using an iPad Air 4 on iOS 15.7.1.
Response from developer
Thank you for your report. It was a bug, actually... Now it's been fixed (in version 5.54). If you still want to report a bug or suggest a new feature (or just tell a joke), please get in touch at customercare@dslrciak.it.
No audio for slate
Response from developer
Hi, the audio is there: you have to activate it on your device (not the volume, the audio itself!). To do that, swipe down from the top-right corner and verify that the little bell icon is active. If it doesn’t fix the issue, pelase write me at customercare@dslrciak.it. I’m here to help! (But if it works, would you please revise your evaluation? Thank you!!!)
not good with a notch
Response from developer
Hi, thank you for your comment. Can you explain better the issue you encountered? Write me at customercare@dslrciak.it. Thank you!
Would have been great
I did find one but didn’t operate as nicely as this app. Hopefully we get an update
One of my most-used tools on set
That’s wild. This app is absolutely invaluable, and has smoothed out the process of directing, coordinating camera ops, and helping the editor out more than any other tool I’ve ever found, app or otherwise.
The fact that it turns into a color chart after the clapper hits is genius; and the ability to send an email with all of the takes marked as good or bad, timecode information, and more embedded right into the email is just unparalleled for getting the info right to the editor immediately and makes communication between departments a breeze.
This and frame.io are the best things you can possibly get for your workflow and turnaround time. Seriously.
Response from developer
Thank you very much! If you have any advice on how to improve the app write me at customercare@dslrciak.it.
Missing some FPS options
Seems like a great app
One of my fav apps
Response from developer
Hi and thank you for your review. It's not a bug, really: the point is that you have to configure at least one email account on the iPad for the log system to work properly (the best way is to install Apple Mail and set it up). I'll add a note in the next version to point out this requirement. If you have any suggestion please write to customercare@dslrciak.it.
App keeps shutting down since I paid for it
Response from developer
Hi, thank you for your post. The timecode feature relies on the actual time of the day, but I'll be glad to add a reset button to meet your needs! If you have any other suggestions or bug reports, please don't hesitate to write to customercare@dslrciak.it.
