FAQ
What is Dual Frame?
Dual Frame is a video recording application that allows you to capture both vertical (9:16) and horizontal (16:9) video simultaneously from a single take. It provides two independent, synchronized files derived from the same recording.
How does Dual Frame record two videos at once?
In dual lens mode, the app uses the main camera for vertical footage and the ultra-wide camera for horizontal footage, capturing two real angles at the same time. Alternatively, in single lens mode, it utilizes the maximum sensor area and crops in real-time.
Does Dual Frame show exact recording specifications?
Yes, Dual Frame clearly displays the actual resolution for each file, the field of view, the frame rate, and whether stabilization is active. If a resolution is not listed, it means your iPhone does not support it.
Can I take photos while recording with Dual Frame?
Yes, you can capture photos during recording without interrupting the creation of your vertical and horizontal video files. The photos will be taken in the same framing as your current recording.
Does Dual Frame support Apple Log?
Yes, Dual Frame supports Apple Log when the format is available on your device. It also includes a built-in converter to transform Apple Log footage into Rec.709.
What video formats does Dual Frame support?
Dual Frame allows you to choose between HEVC or H.264 codecs and save your videos in either MOV or MP4 container formats.
Is Dual Frame available on Android?
Dual Frame is currently only available for iOS devices, specifically requiring iOS 17.2 or later. The dual lens feature requires an iPhone with MultiCam support.
Does Dual Frame have ads?
No, Dual Frame is completely ad-free. The app does not collect any user data, has no servers, and does not use analytics or advertising.
