- Bug fixes on Spatial Photo import

User reviews

Video is REALLY choppy. I know it’s only 99 cents but please fix and I’ll change my rating.

Thanks

Response from developer

Hello,   Thank you for your feedback and for using the application! As of August 16th, 2024, visionOS 1.3 only natively supports spatial video using the MV-HEVC codec which is used to record Spatial Video on iPhone 15 Pro Max. These files can be played back using the visionOS Photos app. Can you please clarify if the 2D video is choppy? If it's only the 3D video that isn't playing back at native frame rate, it is a limitation of the hardware and software. Smaller, compressed 3D videos at a lower resolution should run more fluently. Each frame needs to be decoded using a shader which varies depending on the frame size. For example, a 3840 x 2160 pixel frame takes twice as long as a 1920x1080 pixel frame. Unfortunately, there isn't a native solution to decoding Left / Right or Top / Down video that I am aware of, in visionOS 2.0. At the moment, and foreseeable future, the only native 3D codec supported in visionOS is MV-HEVC. Cheers,

BAD APP

DOESNT WORK. DO NOT BUY.

Laggy video

This player does open the video, but at least with 8k content, it’s extremely choppy and unwatchable.

Response from developer

Hello,  Thank you for your feedback and for using the application!   The latest version, 1.0.4, should drastically improve color quality and frame rate.  If you are still experiencing issues after updating, feel free to leave a comment!  Cheers,

Plays back 180 SBS 8K files from network without a problem

Latest update added the scrobling bar but now all of the video is super choppy. Previously, this was the only app that played back 180 SBS 3D content that wasn’t choppy.

Response from developer

Hello, Thank you for your feedback and for using the application!  This app will continuously receive updates until it mirrors the macOS application. The visionOS technology doesn’t map 1:1 to macOS, so it may take some time to reach parity. The latest version, 1.0.4, should drastically improve color quality and frame rate. If you are still experiencing issues after updating, feel free to leave a comment! Cheers,

Not yet there

Does not play HEVC high res videos. Other videos run choppy. Needs more polishing.
