About

Duo Key is a Japanese and English-letter keyboard that lets you type from either edge of the screen. On wide screens, each side shows a complete QWERTY keyboard. On narrow screens, the layout becomes a single keyboard. JAPANESE INPUT WITH ROMAJI Type romaji to enter hiragana and convert it to kanji. Tap a candidate, or press Space to cycle through candidates and use the confirmation key to accept. You can select a candidate for part of a reading, then continue converting the rest. English-letter and uppercase/lowercase candidates are also available during Japanese input. CHOOSE EACH SIDE On wide screens, assign QWERTY, numbers, symbols, or emoji independently to the left and right panels. You can also hide one side. ADJUST SIZE AND APPEARANCE Choose from three key sizes, alignment options, and five color themes. You can show or hide the key that dismisses the keyboard. ON-DEVICE CONVERSION Duo Key does not save or transmit what you type. Japanese conversion uses a bundled dictionary and runs on your device. No account is needed. Typing and Japanese conversion work without Full Access. To use optional haptic feedback, allow Full Access in iOS Settings. Try typing and layouts in the app before adding Duo Key in Settings. Requires iOS or iPadOS 17 or later. The app's setup instructions and settings are primarily in Japanese. The keyboard supports English-letter input and Japanese input using romaji; this does not mean the app interface is fully localized into English. Dictation is not supported. Secure fields and apps that do not allow custom keyboards use the system keyboard.
