The app frequently logs me out, yet I still receive notifications even when I'm logged out. I wish it would maintain my login session consistently, especially while I'm actively using the app, since it occasionally logs me out unexpectedly in the background.

Complete waste of time unless you like dealing with aggressive and aggressively boring people with no independent personalities. The userbase has been declining continuously and if you spend a day or two exploring, you'll see why: Virtually all the users are having a contest to see who can present as the "weirdest" and most psychologically disturbed. Then there are the obviously truly crazy ones and the first message I got at all was from one of those, who went on and on about stalking.
When they aren't putting on crazy airs, many of the male users are aggressive, insulting appearances or other aspects of one's profile, while they themselves have only anime and memes instead of authentic photographs. Useless.
Making authentic friendships or other normal human connections are simply not possible under those conditions unless you crave social adversity and tedious, repetitive interactions with dull and difficult people.
Further the developer is shady. They constantly beg for donations of money with the dire warning that the platform will shut down without it, usually saying things like "Duolicious has 48 hours to live unless we get more money!" yet not even temporary shutdowns ever happen. Further, despite this dire lack of funding the app is continuously updated. Are the devs doing it for free out of the kindness of their hearts or is something else going on?
In the end it's the "quality" of the userbase that will seal it for you; don't say I didn't warn you.
