Energía

Ahora con la energía la app gratuita no sirve para nada, estás en una lección y cuando ya la vas a acabar te dice que se te acabó la energía que tienes que pagar para seguir, dañaron Duolingo solo quieren que pagues

Kind and helpful thing that doesn’t make it a five star is all the adds are just about buying super Duolingo

Big Bug in Duolingo…

Bacically, I have a super Duolingo subscription. And I was doing my recent mistakes, and it said one mistake left “Complete the sentence”. But the thing is, when I click on the lesson, it immediately finishes the lesson with a time of 0:00, gives me 2 xp, and unknowingly finished the weekend quest for me

Fine

Not that great but ehhh

Great! Great is my word

Just wish that the pronunciation of myself was more clear. The app doesn’t understand in microphone tests so I lose hearts. (btw, i wrote this review 2 years ago but forgot to send it)

Best language learning app EVER

I already have a 53 day streak thanks to Duo noticing me and I’m on section two in Hawaiian thanks to Duo

A massive downfall

I stopped using Duolingo sometime in late 2024, I was learning Portuguese and became increasingly fluent in basic phrases and simple conversations. Having already grown up speaking Spanish was a massive boost as well.

I came back to the app a few days and honestly it is terrible. It is nothing like what it was a couple of years ago.

The voices feel unnatural, the pacing of the lessons don’t have any clear direction, the courses no longer feel authentic. Of course this is due to Ai being used to take over nearly everything. I am not much of an Ai hater but the reality is that you cannot use a machine to teach and dictate a deeply human course. Languages are a profound human experience, not machine made.

The biggest mistake is choosing quantity over quality, even choosing quality you still had way more than enough course materials for the average joe to practice with. I was committed to my course and still felt overwhelmed by the amount of lessons and knowledge there was. To me? The peak of Duolingo was 2023-2024.

Replacing your people, staff and teachers with Ai was absolutely the greatest mistake this corporation ever made. Nothing feels the same.

The battery concept is also the dumbest thing ever conceived, I can’t do more than 5 minutes of lessons before running out of “battery”. It is incredibly limiting and frustrating.

I know my choice will not make much of a difference, a drop in a lake or rather…an ocean.

I will delete the Duolingo app. I hope you all drop Ai and return to what the Duolingo experience so grand and in a way…magical. Real people working across the world to study languages. Technology is here to assist and help us, not to replace humans and the human experience.

5 stars

Duolingo helped me learn while making it super fun definitely recommend

Gender Agenda

The app includes a Gender Agenda with boys with boyfriends and girls with girlfriends. Not only that, if you answer a question of a boy with his girlfriend, the app considers as wrong answer and you can not go to the next question until you answer ‘boy with a boy’ !! NOT GOOD FOR KIDS

I love it

Very good

cheats you out

If you don’t have super Duolingo, this app frustrates so much. Can we just get a language learning app where there isn’t an ad for super every two seconds?? It even cheats you out if you don’t have it. I was doing a legendary lesson and of course it take 7 ENERGY instead of 4 for two questions. So stupid and frustrating

Flash Card Game is glitchy and adds frustration.

Giving a 2 star because of a flash card game they’ve added. I love playing it, but the app glitches while processing what you say, but the timer continues to drop throughout its slow processing. I’ve had to replay some levels up to four times (and lose progress every time) because it was taking too long to process what I said. What’s even more frustrating is when I say the word correctly and it doesn’t process so I repeat myself multiple times, only for it to finish processing and tell me I mispronounced the word….. but the pronunciation they give matches what I repeatedly said into the speaker.
I like everything else about the app, this is just a big enough piss off at this point that I’m willing to give a 2 star.
Perhaps stop adding so much AI content, and focus on improving other aspects of the app.
