Your grandmother Wren left you her farm. She left the shop too, and the hole in the ground under the field, and not much of an explanation. Water both, she said. Duskroot is a cosy farming game with a mine underneath it. FARM BY DAY Clear the ground, till it, plant it, water it, and bring it in. What you grow is what you have to sell. RUN YOUR OWN SHOP Put a thing on a shelf and put a price on it. Villagers come in, look at what you are asking, and decide. Too dear and they wince. Too cheap and you have fed them for nothing. Nobody ever tells you what anything is worth. You work it out by selling. DELVE BY DUSK Take a pick and a sword down and see how far you get. A sword combo, a bow you hold to draw, slimes, skeletons and a couple of things that are worse. Fall down there, or stay past midnight, and half of what you are carrying stays behind. ONE TREE, TWO LIVES Farming, fighting, mining, fishing and haggling all feed one pool of stars, and one branching tree spends them. There is no class to pick at the start. What you spend it on is who you turn into. FREE, AND IT STAYS FREE There is no paywall anywhere in Duskroot. Two moments offer you a short advert in exchange for a favour: a hint at the shop, and a hand up when you fall in the mine. Both are optional, both are capped, and skipping them costs you nothing. If you would rather never see either one, a single purchase turns both favours on for good. That is the only thing there is to buy. Grow it. Sell it. Go down and get more.
