Accomplishes the Necessary

When the app works, it works well. It’s a decent central place for communication with teachers, classroom updates (Rooms), and district news. Rooms and messages have never really given me a problem.

They have made some improvements to the sign in process, although it would be great if they could do SSO for some of the related DCPS sites (eg Focus). Previous DCPS apps/websites couldn’t save PW info, so being able to use Face ID to get into app and have my PW savable (at least on iPhone) for the related apps is an improvement.

It can sometimes be glitchy, though I think it’s less so than when it was first released. I assume (hope) DCPS is actively working to build and improve the app’s functionality.

The search function leaves something to be desired, it’s no different than the website, which returns a lot of announcements and articles that are seemingly never related to my student’s school. I would like to be able to search for menu items in the app, as well as school-specific info; district too, sometimes, I suppose. There just needs to be a way to refine search. As with the website, it’s incredibly hard to get info for just the school I’m interested in. However, I understand that’s an underlying issue with DCPS web navigation/organization, and not specific to app functionality.

While it’s not a Cadillac of an app for DCPS, it’s a lot better than having to call the school to leave a message with the teacher, and the messaging section of the app hasn’t given me any problems.

We are in our 80s

DCPS actually questions why people are leaving in droves

Funny how DCPS struggles and telling us exactly where our money is going, struggles to get our children home on the bus buses they said they would be able to use to get to magnet schools, now requires us to pay up to four dollars per meal for lunches at the schools, on top of the fees that they charge to buy those lunches at the schools, on top of the fees that we get charged to pay for other fees through the school, cash app… but to make matters all the better they can’t seem to get the app to work that we need other apps that they insisted we use. They took perfectly functioning communication systems between parents and teacher teachers at the schools away and insisted on their broken and likely haphazardly purchased applications. I wonder why they can’t find the money to build the schools they promised, the district is incompetent.

Focus

Focus button doesn’t work, it doesn’t take you to the website. Why can’t it be integrated into the app??

Alway have to delete app and re download

When the teachers drop a message in “ROOM”, I click on the box nothings appears. I exit and close app, then open again. Nothing appears. I have to completely delete the app, redownload, then open app again in order to view message.
Thrillshare needs better development programming. This is becoming too much and it’s only second week of school returning.

Ehhh…

Keeps signing me out

The end of the 23-24 school year, the app worked great! Just recently upgraded and now it’s apptegy/thrillshare and it’s so difficult to use
It keeps signing me out, which is SO annoying. Please fix this

App is terrible

This app is so confusing and inefficient. Redirects to websites, clunky layout and functionality, overall terrible.

Trash

Absolute dog shyte of an app. Can’t even log in. Figure it out people.

Can’t even log in

User experience is so bad its not even funny. Clearly I’m not alone in my thoughts.

Keep getting signed out

Every time I close the app I have to sign in again.

Promises of added accessibility, but seeing no improvement.

So for starters, I’m totally blind, and have been needing to utilize this app with IOS’s Voiceover, to have the items on screen read to me. While I can navigate this app as far as being able to sign into the family portal,, it’s all downhill once I log in. The buttons to access items such as Focus are clearly labeled, but when I click them,, instead of directing to Focus, for example, nothing happens.

Incompetent App

Genuine question, what is the point of having an app that redirects to the website?

The app is overly complex and has too much going on at once. But at the same time, parents need so many different apps just to communicate between the school district, the school, the teachers and the classrooms. I have had the worst experience with every app needing a new login and then still having bugs and not allowing access. Whatever committee had given the green light on the DCPS app design and to also make the choice to use so many different apps for communication need to re-assess everything. There has got to be a different way to make things less complicated and this is certainly not even close.

Messages don't send half the time

I receive a confirmation check and then come back and it says the message didn't send.

Terrible

App doesn’t allow me to read the announcements, very buggy, non-existent tech support (I’ve sent in my issue and received radio silence). Also, I still have to use the old app to see notifications from the school and school board, and to use the extensions like Focus. The app has promise if a developer wishes to address everything it’s currently lacking.

I don’t really like school

Hi

Always has glitches

This newest DCPS app is extremely unreliable and not user friendly! It’s constantly freezing up, loading improperly, or just won’t open. It takes so many more menus to get to focus compared to the old DCPS app. The school district needs to go back to the old app or else find a different one to use.

The schools don't use this app.

The last announcement I received here was a month ago. Meanwhile the only announcements I receive over email is "If you see something say something."

The only place they consistently post announcements is on Facebook. I shouldn't have to sign up for a politically partisan social media site to receive updates from the school.
