FilmStacks draws your DVD, Blu-ray and 4K collection the way it stands at home: each disc upright with its title printed down it and its format across the top. Tap one to open it.
KNOW WHERE EVERY DISC IS
Sketch your storage unit cube by cube so the picture matches the real furniture. Each new disc gets a cube and a position. Ask for it later with Show on shelf: the unit appears with that cube lit and the row inside it, your disc lifted out between its neighbours, third from the left.
ADD A DISC IN SECONDS
Scan the barcode. FilmStacks identifies the film, brings in the poster, runtime, cast and synopsis, and reads the printing on the box to tell a DVD from a Blu-ray or a 4K Ultra HD, and whether it has Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, HDR10 or DTS:X. No readable barcode? Photograph the cover, or search by title.
TONIGHT, PICKED FROM YOUR SHELF
Can't decide what to watch? Tonight picks one film from the discs you own each evening and says why: a director you rate highly, a favourite you have not seen in a year, a shorter film on a school night. It learns from what you take and what you pass on, on your iPhone with Apple's Create ML, and your watch history stays on the device. Or scroll a row of your cases and choose your own. Take a film and it prints a ticket whose screen, row and seat are the room, the cube and the position where the disc is waiting. A home screen widget and an optional evening reminder name tonight's film too.
THREE VIEWS
Spines to see the collection as it stands. Posters to find a film by its cover. A list for checking a long run before buying a duplicate. Sort by date added, title, year, format or rating, or by location: unit by unit, cube by cube, every position numbered.
CHECK BEFORE YOU BUY
Search everything in a second, filter by format, extras, genre or cube, and see that you already own a film on Blu-ray before paying for it again. Each result names the cube it is in. A wishlist keeps track of what you are hunting; move a film across when you find it.
LIBRARY CARD
Link your public library and each film on your wishlist shows whether a copy is on its shelf today. Place a hold opens it in the library's own catalogue. A disc you borrow keeps its due date, a reminder and its cube, and Tonight can pick it before it goes back. Shelf data comes from more than 200 libraries in the US and Canada. Only a film's title is sent, never a card number or PIN.
STATS
The format split, the decades you buy from, the genres you return to, your fullest cubes, and how many days of film you own.
IPHONE DUO
Open your iPhone Duo and FilmStacks uses both halves of the screen: your shelf on one side, the film or cube you opened on the other, and Tonight's row across the two.
BACKUP AND EXPORT
Turn on iCloud for an off-device copy, and export everything to CSV at any time.
FILMSTACKS PRO
Without Pro you can add 25 titles, which is enough to see whether this is for you, and cabinets and cubes are never limited at any tier. Pro removes the title limit and adds your own cover photos for editions no database has pictures of, custom fields for anything you track, and bulk import from a CSV so a collection logged in another app moves over in one go.
Pro is a subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase if you would rather pay once. The purchase screen lists every plan in your own currency, along with any free trial, before you confirm.
