Why when something is copied from the Dynamic Island it shoots me back to my home screen instead of saying in the app that I want to paste in? Is it an iOS limitation

Yes, it is due to iOS limitations. Unfortunately iOS only allows to copy when the app is in foreground. Therefore the app has to be opened first. If you enable the setting “Close app after copy” it is immediately hidden after copy. This leads to the described effect, because opening the previous app is not possible either. If you disable the setting, Dynamic Island Notes will stay open.

Almost perfect
Only complaint is that sometimes when notes are deleted, they are stuck on the lock screen until I restart my phone. Otherwise a good app.

Very useful app! Simple, ad-free and clutter-free UI! Love how lightweight the app is.
Sharing a couple of suggestions for further improvement too:
1. Custom color picker, instead of the dropdown options
2. Increased/unlimited note limit
3. Shortcuts integration for adding new notes without entering the app for example?
4. Adding a new note from the Dynamic Island itself
5. Copying a note without opening the app itself
