Best dysphagia app out there

Love this app. I use it for training and supervision of students and colleagues too. Handouts are also super helpful.

Response from developer

Thank you for your kind review!

Not compatible with iPhone 11

App wonโ€™t download on the iPhone 11. Doesnโ€™t attempt to open or update so I canโ€™t use an older version of the app either.

User friendly and incredibly helpful

As a medical SLP I pride myself on completing thorough MBSSโ€™s and using my findings to provide in-depth reports with practical recommendations for my patients. I use this app on a regular basis which is comprehensive and research-based so I have a reliable way to make sure I am recommending appropriate exercises and compensatory strategies. It is like having a textbook in your pocket at all times. Highly recommended for any hospital or rehab based SLP.

Amazing!

This is the best app for dysphagia...super easy to use. Love the option to print instructions for patients.

Great App

I love this app! It is well organized and relevant !

Disappointed

I expected this app to have useful interactive therapy exercises or at least step by step pictures. The therapy exercises and "patient handouts" are just short text descriptions. Not very useful and not worth the purchase price.

Well thought out!

Finally, a dysphagia app that is not only well thought out, organized, and actually useful, but the BEST feature, IMO, is that is has legitimate references to journal articles. I cannot tell you how happy I was to see that DPNS had NO references! I worked at a hospital where I had to be checked off on a competency for this, despite my protestations that there is no EBR! Huzzah, I felt vindicated! ;)

This is a must-have for new clinicians, clinicians that aren't comfortable with dysphagia and neuroanatomy, or even those of us that have been practicing awhile who want an easy and concise way to select targeted treatments and create a home exercise program for our clients.

If you're debating spending the money on this app, do it, you won't regret your purchase. Bravo to the SLPs who created this and to Tactus who, once again, put out another excellent app for our speechie arsenal.

A must-have for clinicians treating dysphagia

User-friendly and evidence-based! A great guide for ensuring thorough assessment of swallowing function, with features such as cranial nerve information and how to assess for each component of the swallow. Able to search for possible treatment approaches by impairments. Research evidence cited for techniques for easy inclusion in reports. Exportable patient handouts Wish I'd had this years ago!

Excellent addition to therapy toolbox

This is my new favorite dysphagia app (and I have many!). Particularly useful is the ease of selecting components of an individualized home exercise program that can be emailed directly to your patient. I'm a home health SLP and this will save me from carrying pounds of handouts everywhere I go--or worse, running out of copies and having to hand write instructions. Everything included in the app is evidence-based and includes specific references. Well worth purchasing!

Convenient for planning and including references

This app is great for helping determine appropriate Dysphagia interventions for both the newbie and advanced SLP... the best feature is it's inclusion of references/citations for the exercises or strategies presented. I'm personally using it to help complete FEES assessments and pop in references as needed.
