- Phone book access and transfer of contacts between DZMX and mobile device
- Messaging functions, to send and receive messages from the DZMX (via cellular or satellite networks)
- Voice call functions, to initiate and answer calls from the DZMX (via cellular or satellite networks)
- Settings functions, to configure the DZMx
- The ability to upgrade firmware
