What's New in E2M (Engineer with EM waves)

1.25

December 19, 2025

- Arbitrary Polarization Support: Users can now define complex polarization states for TE and TM modes, enabling the simulation of Linear, Circular, and Elliptical polarization. - Enhanced Data Export: The exported raw data now includes the Transmission Angle and Frequency Domain Field Components at the incidence, reflection, and transmission boundaries. This empowers users to perform detailed post-processing and analyze polarization characteristics freely.

Response from developer

좋은 말씀 감사합니다. 앞으로도 기능과 편의성 보완을 꾸준히 할 예정입니다. 사용하시는 용도에 도움이 되었으면 합니다.

FAQ

What is E2M used for?

E2M is a 1D electromagnetic and optics simulator. It allows users to analyze complex layered structures, extract photonic band structures, and simulate optical properties like reflectance, transmittance, and absorptance.

What are the limitations of the freeware mode in E2M?

The freeware mode in E2M allows designs of up to 3 layers. It also supports infinite periodic repetition of these layers, which is sufficient for many academic calculations.

How can I unlock unlimited layers in E2M?

To design structures with an unlimited number of layers, you can subscribe to one of the in-app subscription options: One Month, One Year, or Lifetime.

What subscription plans are available for E2M?

E2M offers monthly and yearly subscriptions, both including a 7-day free trial. There is also a Lifetime subscription option. Prices are $7.99/month and $79.99/year.

How do I manage or cancel my E2M subscription?

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple Account settings. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current period ends.

Does E2M support custom materials?

Yes, E2M allows you to create custom materials. This includes general Linear, Homogeneous, Isotropic (LHI) materials and Metamaterials (Double Negative/DNG).

What devices is E2M compatible with?

E2M is designed for iOS devices and is compatible with both iPhone and iPad. It has an age rating of 4+.

How often is E2M updated?

The latest version of E2M is 1.25, which was last updated on December 19, 2025. Updates typically include new features, bug fixes, and performance improvements.
