About

You know the words. But you can't hear them. Bingeing shows or grinding dictation rarely moves the needle, and there is a reason. You keep listening without knowing where you lost it. If you can't tell where the sound slipped past, a hundred plays slip past a hundred times. In real speech, words run together and sounds vanish. "What do you" arrives as one blurred shape. Working that shape out takes all the room in your head, so there is none left for meaning. Note — earo is built for Korean speakers learning English. Hints and translations are in Korean. earo does not ask you to listen more. It points at the spot you missed, then widens it a step at a time until you can hear it. ■ You see exactly where it slipped past Listen and fill the blank. Get it wrong and that stretch plays again, with what you wrote set beside what was said. "I just couldn't hear it" becomes "I lost it right here." ■ You start where you actually are A short situational check places you, and playback speed and blank size follow from it. Nothing is too fast to survive or too easy to be worth your time. There is a very slow starting tier. ■ You can see whether you are getting better Come back to a sentence you solved and the blank widens by one step: a word, then a phrase, then the whole line. A sentence you barely caught yesterday — you find out today whether you hear it. ■ You keep the audio you already listen to Pick an mp3, m4a, mp4 or wav file and it becomes dictation. The podcast or lecture you already follow stops being background noise. ■ You get ready for speech that does not pause Any clip you have worked on can be played end to end, any time. Filling blanks stops at every sentence; real conversation doesn't. Hearing it joined up is where you learn how the seams work. ■ You move from understanding to speaking Talk with an AI partner in English. Stuck? Say it in Korean, and you'll be shown how it would have gone in English, then get another try. ■ What you missed comes back before you forget it Missed sentences are collected for you and return at spaced intervals. Sounds you keep missing are gathered on their own. Nothing for you to organize. ■ No subtitles. On purpose With subtitles you are reading, not listening. Ten minutes a day of short exchanges — cafés, clinics, airports — is enough. ■ This is for you if · Films are out of reach without subtitles · You know the words and the grammar, but your ears won't open · You care about actually following speech, not a test score · You have tried several methods and still can't tell what is wrong ■ Tell us anything Settings has a "Send feedback" line. One sentence is enough. We do not ask for your name or your email. ■ Permissions · Microphone — used only to recognize your English during conversation practice · Notifications — tells you when reviews are due (can be turned off in settings) ■ Subscription · Titles — earo Monthly / earo Yearly · Length and price — KRW 11,900 per month / KRW 79,000 per year (VAT included) · You can try earo for free after installing. Continuing beyond the trial requires a subscription. · Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled, and the same amount is charged again. · Cancel anytime in your App Store subscription settings; access continues through the end of the period you have already paid for. · Terms of Use (EULA) — https://earo.co.kr/legal/terms.html · Privacy Policy — https://earo.co.kr/legal/privacy.html

What's New in earo

1.1.4

August 30, 2026

This build replaces build 32 and 33. It contains the same two new screens as build 32, plus two fixes. Sign-in, subscriptions, in-app purchases, permissions, and data handling are unchanged. No new permissions are requested. 1) Feedback (free-text, one line) Where: Settings > "Send feedback". It also appears once in a while after a dictation result screen, with a Skip button of equal weight. What it does: sends one short text note to the developer's own database. The text is NEVER shown to any other user, is not published anywhere in the app, and there is no feed, profile, or messaging. It is write-only: the app cannot read back any note, including the user's own. We do not ask for a name, an email address, or any contact detail. Notes are deleted with the account. 2) Listen again to a finished clip Where: Home > pick a topic > tap a clip you have already worked on. Under that row there is a "Listen straight through" button. What it does: plays the clip audio end to end. It does not open the dictation exercise and does not consume a trial episode. Fixed in this build • Clip list: the highlight colour and the tap ripple of rows you have already worked on were painted by a container placed above the row, which covered them. The colour is now painted on the row itself. • Conversation audio: when the storage gateway timed out, the audio attached to a saved phrase card was dropped silently, so the card appeared in review without sound. That upload is idempotent, so it is now retried once. How to try it • Settings > "Send feedback" > type anything > Send. A thank-you toast appears. Nothing is displayed back. • Home > any topic > finish one clip > return to the topic list. The row for that clip is tinted, taps show a ripple, and a "Listen straight through" button sits under it. Also in this build: spelling variants such as "alright" / "all right" are no longer graded as wrong, and internal analytics fields were added. Neither is visible as a new screen.
