This VR app uses exposure therapy in a virtual environment to help users overcome mild fear of heights. It gradually increases virtual altitude across different scenarios, allowing users to build confidence and reduce anxiety in real-world height situations. Developed by the University of Basel, it offers a scientifically proven approach to acrophobia management.

MoreEASYHEiGHTS is a virtual reality app that uses exposure therapy to help users overcome a mild fear of heights. It simulates being at increasing altitudes in virtual environments, allowing users to gradually adjust and reduce their fear response.
EASYHEiGHTS is suitable for individuals aged 16 and older who suffer from a mild, clinically insignificant fear of heights. It is not intended for severe phobias.
EASYHEiGHTS requires a smartphone and wireless VR goggles to function. It is designed for effective use at home.
A study by the University of Basel showed that users of EASYHEiGHTS experienced 49% less fear on an observation tower and could climb higher after VR training, demonstrating statistically significant results comparable to conventional therapy.
EASYHEiGHTS offers three different virtual scenarios: a mountain landscape, a forest edge, and urban surroundings. Each scenario has 15 levels, with the platform reaching up to 75 meters.
Training begins on a platform 1 meter above the ground. The platform only rises to the next level when the user indicates their fear level is manageable. This gradual increase helps users become accustomed to heights without increasing their anxiety.
Based on the provided data, EASYHEiGHTS is supported on iPhone and iPod devices. It requires VR goggles for the virtual reality experience.
The latest version of EASYHEiGHTS is 2.0, and it was last updated on February 22, 2022. This suggests updates are not extremely frequent but the app is maintained.
