Easy Password Generator builds passwords out of whole words joined by symbols — Grape-Timber-Wharf7 rather than x9$Kf2#p. Long enough to stand up to an offline attack, and far less painful to type on a TV remote, a games console, or somebody else's laptop. Tap Generate until one you like comes up. MAKING A PASSWORD • Set an exact length, or a number of words — whichever you want • Choose the shortest and longest words you want to see • Choose which symbols may appear between the words, or allow a gap with no symbol at all • Capitalise each word and add a trailing digit, for the sites that insist • An "Includes" line shows at a glance whether the password has upper case, lower case, a digit and a symbol, so you know before you paste it whether the form will accept it A STRENGTH FIGURE THAT MEANS SOMETHING Most generators show a bar based on an attacker guessing character by character. This one counts how many different passwords your exact settings can produce and reports the number of bits that actually represents. Settings → How strength is estimated lays out what the attacker is assumed to know, what the estimate leaves out in your favour, and what no figure of this kind can cover.
