About
Eatolerance is a food diary that does the maths.
Most diary apps collect what you eat and hand you back a list to read through yourself. Eatolerance compares: your days with a substance against your days without it. What comes out is a sentence with the numbers beside it.
"On 22 of 25 days with lactose you had symptoms - and on 2 of 31 days without lactose."
HOW IT WORKS
Tap a meal, tap a symptom. The app does the rest: every food is broken into its substances once - lactose, fructose, fructans, sorbitol, histamine, gluten, tyramine, caffeine and the EU allergens. Then it compares days with a substance against days without it, per body area with the time window that fits: the gut on the same day, the skin up to three days later.
WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT
A dose, not a trace. A croissant carries 0.4 g of lactose, a latte macchiato twelve. Only an amount that actually weighs something turns a day into a day with the substance.
What cannot be told apart stays together. Lactose and milk protein always arrive together, so the app names them as one thing and says which single meal would separate them.
Honest when the data is thin. If there is not enough to say anything, the app says so instead of inventing something. When many substances are tested at once it corrects for all that testing - otherwise you always find something.
An unknown value is not zero. What nobody knows is shown as unknown, never counted as absent.
SEVERAL PROFILES, SHAREABLE
One diary per person - the children, yourself. Whoever writes down lunch is rarely the one who writes down the stomach ache at night: a profile can be shared with a short code, and then both phones write into it and both see the same analysis.
WHAT IT COSTS AND WHAT IT KNOWS
Nothing, and little. No subscription, no sign-up, no advertising. The diary stays on the device and is analysed there. The server sees food names with nothing of yours beside them - and a shared profile leaves the phone encrypted, with a key the server never receives.
ALSO
- A catalogue of more than 1500 foods, with portions, allergens and a substance profile
- Six languages, food names included: English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese
- Symptoms with body area, severity from 0 to 10, start and duration
- Works offline
- Two years of diary analysed in a second
WHAT EATOLERANCE IS NOT
Not a diagnosis. What comes out is a pattern in your own diary - something to take to a doctor or a dietitian, and not a reason to drop a food for good on your own.
