What's New in ECG+ | Your Watch ECG Reader

1.17

July 14, 2026

A cardiologist reading an ECG report always wants more context: what symptoms you felt when the recording was taken, and what might have led up to it, such as a big meal, alcohol, coffee, anxiety, or poor sleep. In version 1.17 we expanded the symptoms section into a full Journal, where you can capture these details for your doctor to consider. Journal makes ECG+ smart interpretation genuinely useful. When you ask about a recording, ECG+ reads your symptoms and triggers alongside the waveform data and addresses them directly: whether the flutter you felt lines up with what the trace shows, or whether last night's poor sleep could explain the extra beats. And across your whole history, Journal reveals patterns and triggers, like premature beats that cluster after coffee, or calmer readings in weeks you slept well. The more you record, the more ECG+ can connect, and easier it finds those triggers behind the episodes. Apple Watch ECG produces relatively low P wave amplitude, and 1.17 introduced a new specific algorithm in finding where P waves start and end, by zooming in really deep into the waveform. This significantly reduces overestimation.

Very good experience

Invaluable.

I actually believe it may have saved my life. A cardiologist didn’t take me seriously at first, when I told him that my heart behaved weirdly after playing badminton. I’m a fit’ish 57 yr old 65kg woman, never smoked, play badminton several hours per week, so not an at risk profile. Only had cursory tests not under effort. My GP recommended that a télécharge the ECG app. It wasn’t long before it picked up AFib. Went back to the cardiologist with print outs. I was put in medication for occasional AFib. Then I had it last for 4 days without let up. I’ve literally just come out of hospital after an ablation. So yes, to say this application is incredibly worthwhile and useful is a huge understatement.

Update

Updated this morning and can’t play my recordings anymore. It closes the app out. Was happy with app up to this point. Will cancel subscription and delete now
