Unusable for the moment because of delay.

I like where the development of this app is headed. In time, it could be a viable Koala alternative. But, until the very noticeable delay between when you tap on a pad and when the sound plays is addressed, I consider it unusable. I have an iPhone 17 and I’m not connected to Bluetooth. Yet, when I tap a pad, I get a similar delay as if I were connected to AirPods or a Bluetooth speaker. Not great.

Update: Still not fixed.

Response from developer

Hey thanks for the feedback! Sorry to hear that’s happening. I’ll take a look and get that fixed. Edit: Fixed! The new iOS adjusted the code behaviour and so needed new permissions. You should be good now.

Very New iPhones Supported

Developer deceives customers in email support that iPhone X generation is supported!

Response from developer

Hey thanks for downloading Echo Beach. It actually is an iPhone first app and will run on your 16. iPad etc was a later addition. DM me if you’re having trouble. My email is in the Developer Profile. Cheers!

Very New iPhones Supported

Wish iOS 16 was supported at least my iPad can run the app!

Retro-modern Sampler, Groovebox To-go!

This sampler is a nice addition to my music app collection. It has a retro feel and workflow with some modern touches such as FX automation. I’ve had some good fun playing with it and the developer it’s very keen to listen and help if you run into any issues. I’m excited to see where he takes this cool app.

Fun Ui with a Learning Curve

This app allows for a lot of in-depth play with your samples, almost to a granular point of modulation. A full effects chain and two bank allotments with 8 pads each allow for a good amount of customization to your sound.

There’s been a few Drum Machine style samplers hitting the market as of late, but what sets this one apart is that sampler is more than a drum sampler, but allows for a wide variation of sounds to be loaded into the pads. With 90 seconds of recoding per pad, it is ample space to build the foundations of any project you are working on.

With the inclusion of a built out AuV3 instrument loaded into your host or DAW, the possibilities are endless what you can do with this app and how you incorporate into your flow.

Some samplers are very fast, and while this one is light on its toes, it does require taking some time to really dig into its meat and bones, but that’s the beauty of this sampler compared to others in the App Store. A world of play opens to you as you spend time loading, tweaking and resampling your samples to your liking.

As the app develops and the Developer releases new updates, i would like to see per pad looping (maybe even with variating time scales) for even further customization, granulation, and freedom in an already astounding app with lots of potential.

Bpm issue

Fabulous app and the developer response is amazing. Fixed the BPM issue except once you click on BPM and the screen comes up. You can’t get the screen to go away. I’m sure this is something that the developer will address. Other than that, I am enjoying this app very much.

Response from developer

Hey Eve Severe! Thanks for checking out the app. I will be adding that exact BPM update shortly! Edit: added! You can now simply tap the bpm and you’ll be able to type in your bpm for sessions that don’t haven’t auto-calculated the bpm :)

Scam: Bait and Switch

I paid for this app a few weeks ago when it was new. Since then, the developer has made it free BUT made in-app purchases an option, also taking away features that it had when I’ve already paid for it. If you are looking for a sampler, there are many better apps. I’d suggest Koala, Flip sampler, or Polaris to name a few.

Hey legisttistran. Yes apologies. The new AUv3 caused some issues that I didn’t catch causing the issues you’re describing. I’ve fixed the issue and the new 5.1.1 is currently waiting for review by Apple. I’m hoping it gets released today, April 19! You’ll just need to enter your Apple ID and you should be rock solid with your legacy purchase! Again, sorry for this but it is being fixed! Hey hey, the fix is live! HMU and I can make it up to you. Email address is on the website.

Buggy

So far I have been enjoying making beats on this app although it is quite frustrating when the app crashes and I am using the demo samples mind you , I’m assuming it’s when I use the fx like delay on two samples it starts to bug out maybe incorporate a cpu usage meter so I know I’m going to hard on the app I’m running iOS 18.5 on iPhone 16 pro max I would love to continue exploring the app it’s just disappointing when you get crashed out mid session

Simply. Awesome.

I can’t enough of echo beach. Hits the perfect sweet spot between ideation and execution. These guys did an amazing job of enabling on-the-fly creativity, bringing all of the core functions I need to test music ideas to my fingertips. Especially dig the intuitiveness of the 1-screen UI (no more flipping btw disjointed modes Koala), the ability to do all I want to do without paying more (again, no thanks Koala), easy tracking of key/BPM for every sample, and of course the massive win in slicing and exporting. I can’t stop playing around with it, but feels like it’s made for more than play _ starting to become a valuable tool for taking ideas back to my DAW too. Next step, bring it into live sets. Crazy good app. Thank you!
