Great Show, Terrible App
I love the Echoes program, but the app is absolutely terrible. It doesn’t show you what’s currently playing (you have to line up the time with artist on a playlist), and now when you click on the playlist, it opens a separate browser. To add hurt to injury, now the app (both iOS and iPadOS) won’t let you log in. Absolutely terrible. Sticking to the browser, where at least I can log in and still listen.

I used to listen to my local npr station for this program but since it is now longer available I suscribed to the app. Love the music the John pulls together

I’m always looking for interesting music I’ve never heard before. John Diliberto quite often fits the bill. Never had a problem with the Echoes app.

Ambient home base
If you like ambient music and the skills of the Echoes program to go and find the most interesting music, this is the app to learn about it.

Great choice of tracks
Incredible programming, adequate app
The app meets the basic needs, but it would be awesome to skip to the tracks you want, easily see what song is currently playing, and pick up where you left off in a program when reopening the app. Rock solid program though. I love me some Echoes.

Echoes Online / subscription is lovely - definitely recommend. The app itself is not great.
You cannot view songs / playlists from too far ago.
You cannot download anything for offline play.
The current track is not highlighted while playing.
You cannot select which feeds to show in the home page (if you only listen to certain ones, for example).
The status of the track / app is lost very easily - restarting it upon relaunches.
You cannot favorite items / shows.
I am sure there are many features I could think of, but the general point is the app needs quite a bit of work. Again, great service and I still recommend people download the app, but it’s far from perfect.

App is a little confusing at first, but the learning curve is low.
How to improve
Love the music but I wish it would highlight the song that is playing so I don’t have to figure out which one it is. This is a major point for me. I wish you could also forward past a song you don’t like. When I reopen a program, I wish it would return to the spot I last listened to... if I haven’t finished that particular program. The ability to highlight songs you like would be nice also.

Don’t Judge the Show by the App
I’ve been able to get the app to work correctly only once. Don’t get me wrong. Some parts of the app work just fine, such as listening to Living Room concerts, interview podcasts and Wordless Echoes. But if you’d like to catch up on one or more of the radio shows you missed, forget about it. The Echoes Online section hasn’t loaded since the first day I subscribed. Needless to say, renewing my subscription for use with this app would be foolish. Such a shame for such an incredible show.

Programs load slowly or not at all
I love echoes and like the idea of having it available on my phone. But the 2 hour programs load very slowly and sometime not at all. I can usually fix it by deleting the whole app and then reinstalling it, but that is time-consuming. I’m disappointed.
Slow to load
Content is great but it takes forever to load the most recent episodes. Have tried on several devices with high-speed internet with the same results. Often the episodes don’t load at all unless I kill the app; sometimes have to do this more than once.

Music is everything.
