About

Echolo is a sonar operation trainer. You learn to set up the unit, handle the boat and read the sonar image on your iPhone or iPad, as many times as you need, on the same area or on a new one every time. It is a simulator, not a real sonar. Who it is for: water rescue, fire departments, police, search teams and public safety divers, dive schools and clubs, and organizations that train people to work with sonar. Searching for people underwater is one use, but not the only one. What the simulator models today: side-scan sonar. Range, frequency, gain and contrast change the image the way they do on a real unit. What you do in a mission - You drive the boat over the area: course, speed, wind, waves, and in one scenario a river current too. - You set up the sonar: transducer (Standard or UHD), frequency, range from 10 to 60 m, sensitivity, contrast and palette. You see the blind zone under the boat, ringing and the shadows behind objects. - You search the circle around the last known position, following a parallel-line pattern. - You tell the mannequin's echo apart from logs, tires, rocks, bicycles, wrecks and fish, and mark it by tapping the image. The mark lands on the map right away. - In big sonar mode the image fills the screen, and a floating map opens when you steer. - On iPhone you feel steering, marks and running aground as short haptics; you can turn them off in Settings. After the mission - A debrief: hits, false alarms, mark position error, area coverage and pattern lines completed. - A review on the water: the boat keeps moving and you can go to every mark and every missed target. - An object seen from eight directions, so you can see how its echo changes. - A replay of the run and a "target or not" quiz. Scenarios: a range for learning signatures, basic and advanced searches, deep water with a drop-off, and a river with a current. Each can be played on a clean or an overgrown bottom, and the area number sets the bottom shape and the target position, so an instructor can give a group one number and compare the runs. Accounts and organizations - An Echolo account is required: email and password, Sign in with Apple or Google. One demo mission is available without a plan, with unlimited attempts. - Full access comes with an active organization plan or personal plan. - In an organization you see your own results, challenges from other members and the organization ranking, and admins see members' results and runs. - Challenge notifications are switched on in Settings and can be switched off. - After signing in you can play without a connection for several days, and your results are sent when the connection returns. Challenges need a connection. - You can delete your account in the app: Settings, Account. In Polish and English. No ads, no tracking. Echolo is a training aid based on a simplified model. It does not replace practical training or operating procedures.

Simulator improvements: you can now remove a mark by tapping its dashed circle on a later pass, and leaving a mission in progress asks for confirmation. Clearer notice when the terms change.
