EchoNote Lecture turns every class recording into a study document you can actually use: synced audio, a live English transcript, and sentence-by-sentence Chinese translation, all processed on your device. THE PROBLEM Following a lecture in your second language means tracking spoken English, an unfamiliar accent, technical terms, slides, and your own notes, all at once. Miss one definition or number, and the rest gets harder to follow. A recording alone is hard to search. A transcript alone can't be checked against what was actually said. A translation alone can quietly introduce its own mistakes. EchoNote Lecture keeps the audio, the English text, and the Chinese translation together on one timeline, so you can always go back to what was really said. HOW IT WORKS RECORD Start in one tap with Quick Record, or name a lecture by title and course. EchoNote Lecture estimates how much recording time your storage allows, and always shows whether a recording is active, paused, or interrupted, so nothing is silently lost. TRANSCRIBE IN REAL TIME Spoken English becomes a time-stamped transcript as the lecture happens, using Apple's on-device speech recognition. Lower-confidence words are marked so you know what to double-check against the recording. TRANSLATE, SENTENCE BY SENTENCE Finalized English sentences are translated into Simplified Chinese as the lecture continues, or afterward if you prefer. This is careful sentence-by-sentence translation, not simultaneous interpreting, and every translation stays linked to its exact source sentence. Where Apple Intelligence is available, you can optionally polish the literal translation for more natural phrasing, and still compare it with the literal version. REVIEW LIKE A STUDY DOCUMENT Play back any lecture and watch the transcript follow along, with the current sentence and word highlighted in sync with the audio. Tap any English or Chinese sentence to jump straight to that moment. Switch freely between English, Bilingual, and 中文 reading views, and pick up right where you left off. BOOKMARK, ANNOTATE, AND CAPTURE SLIDES Tap once to bookmark a moment, or hold to add a quick note, like "ask the professor" or "exam topic." Attach a photo of a slide or the whiteboard, timestamped to exactly when it was shown. CORRECT WITHOUT LOSING THE ORIGINAL If the transcript misheard something, correct it. Your correction becomes the study text, while the original recognized English stays available for reference, and you can re-translate just that sentence. STAY ORGANIZED Group lectures by course with color coding, search across titles or full transcript text, and see recording length, translation status, and file size at a glance. EXPORT YOUR WORK Share any lecture as Markdown study notes, an SRT subtitle file, or the original audio recording. PRIVACY BY DESIGN Speech recognition and translation run on your device using Apple's frameworks. There's no account to create, no cloud upload, and no collaboration server; your lectures stay in the app. An internet connection is only needed to download Apple's language resources the first time. WHAT ECHONOTE LECTURE ISN'T It's not a live interpreter, a multi-speaker meeting tool, or a substitute for your instructor's official materials. Speech recognition and translation can make mistakes, especially with accents, jargon, and background noise, which is exactly why your original audio and recognized English are always kept, never overwritten.
