App is Usable, but Not Great for Making Appointments
The app is useful, as it shows past purchases, which is nice. But I wish it would show past services and the time it took. And it would also be awesome if the stylist could take an “after pic” after each appointment, and it could be upload for each client so that they could go back and see if they’d want something done again. I almost always want something done a little different than the last time, so this would be nice. Actually, now that I type that out, I think I’ll start doing this in my own calendar after each appointment.
But honestly, I downloaded the app hoping it would make it easy to see appointment availability, but if you want to request an appointment through the app, you have to specify a single date, and there is no way to see if the stylist has any availability on that date until you submit your request. And even then, it just says that this stylist has no availability on that date, it doesn’t pull up a calendar with their next available appointment or anything.
I have found the most useful apps and salon websites that set appointments have a calendar that allows users to see when there are openings in the schedule. Those user interfaces are even better if you are able to select more than one service. If I’m going to a hair salon, I’m getting a cut/blow-out and a color service, not just one or the other. The app today does not allow for multiple service selections which matters when it needs to account for the amount of time needed for the appointment. If Eclektica’s business model was like Great Clips, requesting an appointment by a single day would work, but it isn’t, so it doesn’t. Essentially, requesting an appointment via this app is useless in its current state. If this app were able to handle this better, I know that this would alleviate some of the need for someone to work the front desk full time, so upgrading the app with more appointment-making functionality might make financial sense.
