Writing an exam • The editor now has three tabs named after the work: Add questions, Write and Export. Generating questions with AI is on the first of them — it used to sit inside Import / Export, where nobody found it. • After a generation you are asked what happens next: read the questions first, or make the exam ready and go straight to the Schedule screen. • "Ready to schedule", from the editor or from the Library, now opens the Schedule screen with your exam already chosen instead of an empty list. If an exam cannot be scheduled there — a viva or a practical, which are recorded from the Assessment register — the screen says so. • One Save button, at the end of the form, where you finish writing. The question type is a setting above the form rather than a second action. • AI generation opens with no chapter selected, so a run only ever covers the chapters you choose. • Search the chapter list instead of scrolling it, by name or by number. • Search learning outcomes across the whole subject to find a topic — type "bite marks" and the matching outcomes appear with the chapter each belongs to, even in chapters you have not added. Ticking one adds its chapter for you. • Opening an exam now starts on Add questions. Marks your students cannot see yet • The Dashboard now tells you when an assessment has marks that have not been published, and opens Results filtered to exactly those. • The Assessment register shows "Students can see" beside "HOD sign-off". They are two different things and can disagree: publishing is what lets students see their marks, while sign-off is for audit and accreditation. Your subjects • Chapters and learning outcomes are now limited to the subjects you teach — your own department, plus any department you teach a class in. Previously every department's curriculum was listed. The exam monitor • Students writing in the Exam app are no longer reported as writing in a browser. Results • An assessment given to more than one class now has a row for each of them. It used to appear once, under whichever class sat it last, with both classes' marks averaged together — so the average and the pass rate belonged to neither class, and half the students were filed under a class they are not in. Each row now carries its own class, its own date and its own numbers. Fixes • Editing a question and saving it now works. Saving an edit could fail outright, and the message said only "[object Object]" — errors now say what actually went wrong. • Scheduling an exam no longer warns that exclusions failed when they did not. Excluding a student who was already excluded is no longer treated as an error, and a genuine failure now names exactly how many students it affected. • Warnings and errors stay on screen long enough to read. • Deleting an assessment's marks now says how many classes it covers, because it covers every class that sat the paper. • Questions generated with AI no longer open with "According to the source text" — a student never sees the source, so the question does not mention it. Smaller things • An exam marked ready with no questions no longer describes itself as ready to schedule. • Assess now loads only the screen you open, so it starts faster.
