Bad uninformative UI
I want to love this as I paid $400 for the device but the UI is really poor. It need a re write from the start. There is a lot of useless information or buttons that go really no where. It’s hard to remember where that bit of information was - there isn’t much to see so that’s saying a lot.
Should look at apps like Tapo which has a nice energy monitor for their plugs. Or even tuya smart which is basic but is clearer.
I actually use the installer app to get a better idea of what kw each circuit is actively using.

Poor app with so many bugs
Where do I start?
1. App constantly wants me to log in again every time I open the app despite ticking “remember me” box.
2. Shows wrong information and has terrible wording as other users have mentioned in their reviews.
3. The notifications for when power usage exceeds the maximums you’ve set don’t even work! Not once since having this app have they worked. Which is a few years.

Requires Login EVEY TIME! FIX IT!!
I use this app all the time to check my live power consumption. The latest version requires full password login EVERY TIME I reopen it! Very annoying!!!
Unable to see user name input
The user name input box disappears when the keyboard is launched on ios app. Can’t login can’t use the app. At the moment this app is useless.
Good piece of kit
Initially I had some teething problems but the last several months it has been working perfectly. I have very high mains voltage which continually put my solar inverter offline. This unit presented a much lower voltage so my inverter is now happy and now no trouble at all. The app has been greatly improved and I reference it frequently. I am a technical man and the dollars and cents results it displays aren’t a lot of interest as I concentrate on what my voltages are and the usage components displayed. The guys I have dealt with have been very helpful and easy to deal with. Great work fellas. 5 out of 5 for the app and desktop access software.

First class at excellent price
I compared this to a couple of other units that appear to be exactly the same (just different badge). So it came down to software features of the cloud based App.
For the price this is excellent. Am now looking at getting a second one to monitor load circuits, as this one is fully utilised monitoring 3P supply and 3P solar generation.

Great work guys, VERY informative package, I’m still getting my head around it.
I would love to see a graphic similar to POWERPLAY showing Grid Import/Export to/from my household with Solar Generation feeding into my house.

Good, Helpful data easy to understand
Installed this to better understand our home consumption and how solar is performing, gives a detailed understanding of what loads are consuming power and when and also a guide to how we are tracking against monthly energy budget. Recommended if you want to get your energy costs down.
Excellent energy monitoring
I have used a couple of energy apps on the past and this is definitely the best. The new home page makes monitoring my energy interesting and effortless. Highly recommend
Great data breakdowns
The energy monitor and edgeConX app have helped me understand my energy so much more, I love that I can see all my energy activity in a really clear way. My favourite aspect is knowing how much my energy bill is going to be and receiving insights into how I can save more. Would recommend.

No longer able to use app on my iPhone
Very disappointed that the latest upgrade means I can no longer use the app on my iPhone without upgrading my phone to a newer model $$$$$. This will probably affect a lot of people. After spending a significant amount of money on the solar panels as well as having Edge IQ installed this situation is not ideal.

Two steps forward, one step backward
The most basic function of displaying current consumption (Live Data Feed) requires a PhD and sharp eyesight to look for a single word in small font; the PowerPlay app did this so well; EdgeConX is well below standard. [Hint: improve it.] Aspects of the UI are really quite difficult to interpret, some parts arguably meaningless. I asked my partner to interpret some of the data - the interestingly named ‘Today’s Usage which also gives weekly, monthly and yearly data which is something approaching a technicolor yawn in its presentation - after a good deal of time just gave up without understanding. It has me thinking that the development team needs assistance in what makes a good, workable UI. And now the Weekly Report has stopped arriving. Otherwise, and with persistence, there is value to be exploited to help make energy saving decisions. But it could be so, so much better.

Live data feed display is confusing
I’m mostly interested in the live data feed and I don’t think the display is helpful. A lot of flashing graphics that aren’t easy to interpret. I prefer the PowerPlay display but had to change to this app.

Valuable tool to monitor power usage and generation. Has helped us reduce our power usage from the grid by real time load monitoring

App performs solidly and is relatively straight forward on connecting, setting up, navigating and providing information.
The “rate me” is a little aggressive compared to other apps which typically provide a couple of weeks between reminders.
Orientation on a phone is good but on an ipad is locked to portrait mode which can be annoying having to rotate manually to use it.
A nice feature on a few of the informational screens might be to send the screen snapshot as a share nearby, message, email or print etc. I have yet to ask about API access to data to “load” the house and switch appliances etc via smart switches to lower the spikes (the energy would be wasted anyways, might be able to run an alternate hot water system or feed excess to batteries etc).
The information is presented in a way which is easily understood. Before installation of the Edge IQ, data was available to indicate the voltage here was filthy. It provides clear and concise information on the issues around managing an energy environment which is larger than most residences. This would be easy to report (hence send option in screens) to appropriate people both internally and externally.
A solar system greater than 5kw is not a problem however, a catchpower solar hot water diverter seems to confuse it’s reporting/operation of generation figures and potentially when it is protecting or not. Hot water systems are about 4kw by themselves and as it goes through 5kwh of solar generation to about 7kwh with a total using of about 5kwh it reports the net numbers (generating 1-2, using 1-2kw yet operates in bypass mode).
Compared with high voltage (258-263) the lower voltage heats the water faster which the tech at work confirmed (we make commercial dishwashers), so the more often the net use (import/export) stays protecting the more energy to be saved.
The protection mode disables immediately on passing the net output to grid at 5kwh of the unit but is slower reacting after a total dropout to importing 0.8kwh caused by voltage spike over 260 and generating over about 7kwh. Solar can take 10 minutes in full sun finding power equilibrium again (booting up?) but the unit does not return to protecting during this time.
Overall bewt and after only a few days this must save money and I can easily see how it would. If you ever make a 10kw unit, let me know.

Comprehensive view
This app provides a broad ranging view of our energy consumption, allowing us to modify behaviours that favour real wins to our energy bill. This is a must have, particularly if you live in the country, where our incoming power is averaging 254 volts, with spikes up to 268! A regular, smoothed 220 volts is so good. Lower bills, and no motor burnouts.
