What's New in Editorial

1.3.4

February 7, 2020

This app has been updated by Apple to display the Apple Watch app icon. • Added support for the iPhone X with its native resolution. • Changed toolbar color in the preview/accessory panel – this makes it easier to distinguish the preview from the editor. • Improved performance for switching between dark and light mode. • The accessory panel (preview, in-app browser...) uses the same tab bar UI on iPhone and iPad now. • Removed support for the public workflow directory. Your shared workflows will remain online for the foreseeable future, but the directory will soon become read-only. You can still share workflows using the "Copy Workflow" feature, of course, which is more flexible anyway, as it allows you to put your workflows in any plain text file. • Fixed an issue with explanatory text in the settings being displayed incorrectly (particularly on small screens). • Fixed footnote navigation in Markdown preview. • Fixed table view actions not being executed in "Custom UI" workflow actions. • Fixed a few issues with inline boneyard in Fountain documents.

Amazing, Perfect and Full of Surprises

I keep forgetting all that Editorial is capable of. I forgot about the snippet/text expansion capabilities for inserting current date and time, and after spending all day looking for an affordable option on iOS… I realized, Oh right, Editorial does THAT too!!! Amazing!

Excellent editor, unfortunately abandoned

Editorial has, to me, the best text editor interface. Better than iA, iWriter Pro, or One Markdown. The side panels are smoothly togglable with gestures. The outline popover works as it should. And the text style and visual rhythm are spot on.

Alas, it doesn't support iCloud Drive and therefore I cannot use it to edit markdown files synced across iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

The app is not updated anymore, abandoned, living in a limbo of unfulfilled glory.

I am so excited

I don’t think I can adequately express my enthusiasm in words. Snippets are already a cool thing in themselves. Snippets with calculated variables are great. Workflows where you can even use Python are simply fantastic.

The fact that it is also a very practical Markdown editor is simply amazing.

I’m still looking for the catch in all this. I’ve probably just sold my soul without even realising it.

Still good!

Not gonna lie, I’d love an update. But this still has features modern apps don’t have.
