FAQ

What is EG Nodes?

EG Nodes is a clip-based Audio Unit host with sequencing capabilities. It allows users to play external instruments, Audio Units, or MIDI hardware and create complete audio projects. It functions as a powerful and flexible groovebox for performing or creating music from scratch.

What are the key features of EG Nodes?

Key features include a built-in MIDI generator with nodes like Note/Chord, Arpeggio, and Sequencer, a Piano Roll editor, and generative sequencing. It also offers MIC/Input nodes for recording, an Audio/Recorder/Sampler node for importing and manipulating audio files, and a Song node for structuring projects.

How can I use external instruments and effects with EG Nodes?

You can load your favorite AU3 instruments, effects, and MIDI FX Audio Units to expand your sound palette. The app supports flexible MIDI routing, allowing you to send and receive MIDI from external hardware, software, or other apps, and control parameters via MIDI learn.

Can I create song structures and automate parameters?

Yes, EG Nodes allows you to link scenes using the Song node to create a song structure. You can also save and recall up to 8 main scenes to control your song structure and node combinations. Additionally, you can automate parameters for each node to add dynamic elements to your compositions.

Is EG Nodes compatible with other DAWs?

EG Nodes can be loaded in other DAWs and hosts as a MIDI FX generator to quickly create MIDI sequences. It is also a universal app, meaning it runs on both iPad and iPhone, allowing you to share your projects with other musicians across devices.
