Sound still doesn’t work

This would be a great app, but the sound doesn’t work! How are kids supposed to learn when they can’t hear anything?

No sound please fix!!!!

No sound please fix!!!!

No sound

Also just paid for this app to find there is no sound 😒😒😒

No sound don’t waste money

Still no sound to app. Looks like a known problem for 5 years and still not repaired. Hope apple remove this company and their fraudulent apps soon

Phonics without sound - useless!

Just paid for this and the sounds not functioning

Not a phonics app!

This is useless as a phonics app. For example on level 1 when working with the word cat the first thing that happens is 3 pictures are shown, and one is a cat. You're asked to match the picture to the word cat. Not sure where the phonics practice is there really. The second thing is to spell the word cat. When you tap on the letters the letter NAME is announced and not the phonic sound!!! So for example, c 'see' a 'ay' and t 'tee'. If this were actually a phonics app it would announce the sound. You know, like, actual way phonics work..! Don't waste your money. I'm now going to see if jolly phonics do an iPad app.

Works with headphones

Works with headphones. Not ideal but better than nothing. Such a shame it's a great educational tool and my son loves it.

No sound

No sound - renders the app pointless..

Great phonics program & sound is fine

This app is a great extension to the reading eggs program with similar activities included. We had no trouble with sound using an iPad mini and haven't yet updated to iOS 9. I was a bit worried about purchasing because of other comments and was relieved when everything was great. We have all three phonics apps plus many more. I always rely on others to comment so I thought it might help someone to know.

Eggy Phonics 1

No sound with iPad 1. Other Eggy apps work fine on the old iPad, but not this one.

No sound, don't buy!

This app broke ages ago but the developers couldn't care less. There is no sound, so the whole thing is a bit pointless.

NOT a phonics app!

If you hope to use this to support phonics learning, then best to avoid. I've not gone far in to the app, but disappointingly from the outset it uses letter names as a primary focus. To confuse things further, they are then mixed with phonic sounds - something which can be very confusing for young children starting out with phonics. Perhaps worst of all, the phonic pronunciations that are used are inaccurate (addition of "uh" sounds where these should be avoided). Some of the ideas in the app seem good, but it just has the potential to confuse children in its present form. Disappointing.

Sound not working

I see that you have disabled the sound? I don’t understand. Isn’t that the point of these apps? Will you be fixing this or refunding customers for these purchases. I have purchased Phonics 1, 2 and 3 and none are working.

Sound not working

Sound not working. Frustrating!!!!

Sound not working

My kids love this App. They have been using it for quite awhile unfortunately the sound has just stopped working. Tried deleting and reloading however it is still not working. Please fix this, could be an upgrade issue.

Sound does not work. Can you fix it, please?

Eggy phonics

Sound is not working despite deleting and reloading, which is the whole point of a phonics program

A fun learning app

My 7 year old has been playing this as he's learning to read. The app works on one word at a time.

First the student hears the word and chooses the correct picture (such as they hear "cat", then choose the cat from three different pictures). They repeat this five times.

Next they spell the word by dragging the letters into the correct order. Only the correct tiles are available to choose from, but in random order. This is repeated three times.

Next is bubble letters. There are bubbles containing different letters floating around and again the student must spell the word. However, there are several different letters available and the student must choose the right letters in the correct order.

Finally, the student must "write" the word. The word is spelled out and the student is shown the correct way to write each letter, then given the opportunity to "write" each letter.

Between each level of a word, different things are shown to reward a student, and keep their attention, while the app switches modes. Sometimes it's a colorful, five-bar xylophone that the student can make fun, pleasant noise with. Other times its a few colorful bouncy balls that bounce around, multiplying as rapidly as the student can poke at them.

For as old as my son is, the first level, which is tapping a picture of the word, is a little redundant. However it would likely be better appreciated by the younger, preschool aged student.
Everything else, though, is just what he needs to keep practicing his reading.

Sound?

People have been asking you to fix the sound since June/July and you still haven't. This is a waste of money :(
