eGohm 1.5.0 The Synaxarion • The book of the saints is here – 180 days from Thoout to Meshir: for every day of the Coptic calendar the commemorations of the saints, martyrs and fathers and the feasts of the Church, plus two introductory chapters. • In the Liturgy it sits where it belongs: after the Acts, before the Psalm and the Gospel – with the announcement of the day, "Today is the … day of the blessed month of …". The day is fetched automatically, like any other reading. • Scripture references and notes do not interrupt your reading: they sit behind a small icon and open at the bottom of the screen on tap. • Every commemoration closes with its blessing, and every day with "Glory be to our Lord for ever. Amen." • The months from Paremhat to Nesi will follow in one of the next updates. Feedback that answers back • Until now you could write but never hear back. The team now replies, the answer appears under "My feedback" – with a badge when something new arrives – and you can write straight back. • A report can carry a screenshot you may draw on beforehand and, optionally, an e-mail address for follow-up questions. Without one everything stays anonymous, but the history is no longer reachable after a reinstall. • "Report this problem" now sits where the problem is; whatever you had open is sent along as context. • Fixed: "Report a problem" from the side menu failed every time on the phone. Arabic interface right to left • With the app set to Arabic, the whole interface is now mirrored – side menu, cards, icons and images. • On first launch the interface language follows your device: an Arabic or German device language decides directly, otherwise the country does (Egypt → Arabic, DE/AT/CH → German), and everything else gets English. After that your own choice wins. The day display leads somewhere • On the home screen and in the side menu every part of the day has its own destination: the name and image of the feast or fasting season lead to its directory entry, "Eve" and "Fast" each to an explanation, the date and the empty space to the calendar as before. • "Eve" and "Fasting season" have their own pages with a share button; the note about the switch-over time links straight to the setting it talks about. • Second days of feasts and the Coptic New Year period now point to the entry of their feast instead of ending in a "there is no page for this". Reading • The display switch (the eye) now also offers the reading languages on pages carrying a psalm or a reading. Before, turning Coptic off there changed nothing – the switch looked broken. • Readings now default to German and Arabic: those are the two languages they are proclaimed in, and on a phone a fourth column gets tight. Prayers keep all three columns, and one tap brings Coptic back. Existing installations are moved over once – only if the reading languages were never changed by hand. • Doxologies: a button in the text jumps to the conclusion, and a "Back" button at the end returns you to where you came from. New and completed texts • New book "Praise Hymns (Madayih)" with the hymns for Neyrouz and the Feast of the Cross. • Agpeya: Coptic intercessions added for several hours, and the psalms of each hour grouped into their own section. • Added: the missing verse of the Neyrouz doxology and further verses, the missing verse (17) of the Sunday Theotokia, and further variants of "Lord, have mercy". • Text corrections from the review: "Hades" instead of "hell", "Lord Jesus" in the refrains, and a set of spelling and wording fixes. Privacy • A new "Privacy" section in the settings holds the "Anonymous usage statistics" switch: all that is counted is how often the app is opened – by platform, version and country. What you read or pray is not recorded, no advertising identifiers are used, and on the web it works without a cookie. One tap turns it off, with the link to the privacy policy next to it.
