New user to this version
Due to having a mishap with my old phone i was forced to upgrade to writings 2 which i had resisted for years. I’ll share why i didn’t want to upgrade and maybe you can fix the 2 next time you do an update: 1) too many clicks to get to where you want EACH time you get in to the app. It needs to go back to where you were reading last time. Also just too hard to locate things in the app. 2) it needs a back and forward scroll button so when you look up bible verses in a sermon you can easily scroll back to where you were in the writings 3) it needs an alphabet on the right side like before in the list of books etc (i think this has been fixed). These are some of the things i was afraid of losing and now i have lost them😒. As far as good things in the upgrade though, i do prefer the font in this version and the fact that we can delete a color after making a new one if we don’t like it.(i take that back - no way to edit a color after making and labeling!) I’m sure I’ll discover more things i like as time goes on. Thank you for this resource. One more thing, the reader of the GC does a very good job but occasionally misreads things here and there. I had to refer to the written text when i heard "Abel fell upon the murderous Cain" instead of "Abel fell BEFORE the murderous Cain". Anyway, the mistakes are few and far between. Thank you. update: please tell me why not all the pages are included in the app. I’m reading selected messages vol 3 and the chapter on end times, chapter 56, just ends 5 pages from the end. Later i scrolled to the right and more appeared but it was confusing bc i had set my settings to just scroll all the way down through a chapter and not flipping pages so that was unexpected. And on top of that, WHOLE CHAPTERS are left out?? Why are chapters left out - unless it’s only in the reader/listening version? The chapter numbers don’t match up at ALL with the reader version. Also, the reader of maranatha skips whole calendar days in his reading. For example, he reads March 29 then might jump to April 1 or march 12 to 14. Just randomly skipping whole chapters. How can we fix it? 5/17/22 suddenly my app won’t open listening history. It just has the spinning wheel. Can you tell me what I’ve done to cause this? Not sure if it’s the app or something i’ve messed with?? i see there’s an update but it still has that issue. now the listening version has been changed and it won't read to me anymore this is September 16, 2026. I do not want to upload a new and different text I want the same old text as before and don't trust any changes to Ellen White writings

EGW 2 is worse than the original
The EGW 2 app is a maze and poorly designed. I can never get back to where I was, the picture illustrations of the books just take up extra space and make for extra scrolling to find what you need. I enjoy the audiobooks but they are not in the history and good luck trying to get back where you left off. I have yet to find the Bible. Aside from the audiobooks, the original is a hundred times better.

…and the Truth shall set you free!
Amazing tool for us to learn more about God’s plans for us. It does not substitute the Holy Bible, it complements it.

A Blessing for Bible and Spirit of Prophecy Study
The EGW Writings App is an incredible blessing for anyone who wants easy access to the writings of Ellen G. White. Having the complete collection of her books, letters, manuscripts, and devotionals available in one place is truly amazing. The search feature makes it simple to find quotes or study specific topics, and the ability to read the Bible alongside her writings makes personal study even richer.
I especially appreciate how convenient it is to have these inspired writings available anytime—whether during personal devotion, sermon preparation, or deeper study. The app is well organized, easy to navigate, and constantly expanding with helpful resources.
This app is a wonderful tool for anyone who wants to grow spiritually and better understand God’s Word through the counsel given in Ellen G. White’s writings. I highly recommend it!
